Fated Eternals Book 1
This was an interesting concept about immortality and souls. The story is quite slow at first and everything moves at a very slow pace until towards the end when things pick up and there are a few unexpected twists and turns.
Narration was good and brought the story to life. The female voices needed a bit of work.
The story is told in Jack’s POV. There is some mystery and a bit of romance. There is some action at the end. I would say this is a YA fantasy and very light on the romance. This is a fairly good book but I wish there were more things going on throughout the book instead of just picking things up around the conclusion. The conclusion was excellent though and wrapped everything better than I expected it.

NEW/YOUNG ADULT BUT DEFINITELY NOT MATURE ADULT
I hate book bashing but sometimes you just don't know why a book didn't work for you, the Summary sounded great and I really tried but somewhere in the hours of listening, that dragged on and on, I eventually gave up hope of ever finding the elusive thing that would finally capture my attention.
Immortal Jack is now 170 (but looks and acts 20) he was once a Vicar's son who lost his soul mate Lydia back in 1800 and something and he's been mourning the loss ever since. But when he sees Leah it's like seeing the spitting image of Lydia again. He tries not to get involved but he just can't help himself.... his soul is drawn to her and little did he know hers was calling out for this nameless stranger too. However, he's not the only Immortal and suddenly he's put people's lives in danger just by being their friend.
It should've worked, the writing was very clever but I didn't feel the romance... oh they gave each other pecks on the cheeks or skimmed their lips together but Jack was an old fashioned type of guy who wanted to wait til he had a ring on Leah's finger before taking things further..... so no sex. Only at the very end, when he was willing to give up his immortality to save her was there any real action and danger, yes there was mystery as this was a whole new concept of Immortals but nothing stood out for me.
Told from Jack's POV by a narrator who made it very difficult to follow who was talking and couldn't really do female voices.
Worth a credit? No, this is not a listen that's grabbed me in any way so I won't be following it even with the teaser of an Epilogue.
