Publisher's summary

Golden Vampire Paolo Monteleone begins raising a son he did not know he fathered, after the murder of the boy's mother. He meets a beautiful human college professor, Carabella Sampson, at a Halloween costume ball. She is an expert on vampire lore, but doesn’t quite believe in their existence. Paolo dresses up as himself: a vampire.

A dark coven leader has targeted her for elimination, before she can reveal secrets of the Golden Vampire lineage she's obtained from an ancient book. Can there be a happily ever after if either his lover or his young son has to pay the ultimate sacrifice to protect the Golden Vampire race? And how in the world will Paolo be able to choose which one to save?

A Tuscan Forbidden Love!!!

Would you listen to Mortal Bite again? Why?

Yes I would definitely listen to this again, because it completely drew me in. I found this second book to be even better than the first. As I predicted in my review of the first, this second book offered a more complete insight to the world of the Golden Vampires. Explanations about their laws, abilities and way of life became clearer and fell into place. The story was riveting in that the love and the action flowed through from beginning to end parallel to eachother.

What did you like best about this story?

I like that Sharon incorporates humour aswell heartache and of course passion. It's a complex story and in both book 1 and 2 Sharon has given a lot of information and I like that she slowly takes the reader through the unfolding of it, carefully placing everything on the timeline and allowing us to absorb it at the appropriate moment.

What does J. D. Hart bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Although I am JD's number one fan, he surprised me in this book, especially in his portrayal of Carabella's moment of selfless sacrifice, as well as Paolo's pain when he witnessed it. He actually made me pause to listen intently because the moment was so incredibly heart-breaking. I love the way he did Dag too, he actually made me want to rip Dag's head off myself (sorry if I've mispelt names, I don't have the print copy of this one).

I always enjoy JD's performances and love that he can surprise me everytime adding something new and fresh. He poetically dramatises all the scenes and places you on the stage actually living each and every experience.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The are quite a few moments that moved me in this book. I don't like spoilers so if you don't read/listen you won't know what I'm talking about. Those moments were Johnny when he's supposed to meet Carabella to discuss a "book"; Carabella's selfless act when she tries to protect Paolo from Dag and last but not least, the Jet Brothers all three of them on different occasions.

Actually there are so many moments that I can't name them all otherwise I'd be writing down the whole book.

Any additional comments?

I really did enjoy the first book but I enjoyed this one so much more and I have a feeling it's just getting better because Sharon has left my mouth watering for book 3.

Things have happened and, I have hunches about others that are going to happen and, I need to know what happened to someone in particular - CONFUSED?, well you know what to do. I'm not a spoiler, sorry :-)

This book is totally worth getting whether you're a Sharon Hamilton fan or not, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Alpha Vampire Hunks? Send them my way Please!!

Any additional comments?

This second book in The Golden Vampire Series was very enjoyable and full to the brim with Alpha male vampires, oh Yummy!

The first book in this series ( Honeymoon Bite ) was a fantastic story and i absolutely devoured it.... However, with Mortal Bite, Sharon Hamilton has taken the story line in a new and intriguing direction and really upped the anti... This was very well written, action packed book and has war brewing between the Golden and Dark Vampires as one seeks for domination over the other... Amongst all of this we have Paolo Montelone, he is so lonely and looking for love,... With a chance encounter with Carabella Sampson, at a fancy dress party, there is instant attraction and the romance begins... However - Carabella's profession and fascination with vampire mythology lands her in a very dangerous position...

This story introduces some wonderful new characters and continues to keep the readers interest - It will keep me coming back for any additional books in this exciting series.. J D Heart does another excellent job narrating and if you love Vampire books full of mystery, passion, lust and hot sizzling romance this is the series for you... :)

A WELL-WRITTEN ACTION-PACKED SEQUEL

Great follow-up book giving us more insights into the sexy, Alpha, charming and charismatic Golden Vampires of Tuscany who can choose to become Vampires or remain mortal and can walk (or do anything) in the sun. They're also protective, loyal, loving and very sensual which is something beautiful Carabella (who is just fascinated by 'mythical' Vampires) is about to find out when she 1. comes across a secret ancient book and 2. meets handsome but lonely Paolo.... a real flesh and blood Vampire who's fascinated, attracted and mesmerised by her.

It's a lovely steamy hot romance with a likeable heroine and a loveable sexy hero but intertwined is action, drama, intrigue, betrayal, suspense, good & bad Dark Vampires, mystery and new characters who all move the storyline on nicely which ensnares you more into their wonderful world where family is everything..... but the threat of War between the Dark v the Golden Vampires puts everyone in danger.

Worth a credit? If you like a well narrated Vampire+Romance+A Good Plot book (as I do) then this is a great series to spend your credits on (as I did)..... so YES creditworthy.

Great vampire book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely!!! I would recommend and I do recommend this book, this series, to anybody who like the vampire romance genre. Why? Because it is different in many ways, the Golden Vampires are able to walk in the sun, they have a strong family bond, they grow up human till they hit puberty when they have to choose between a mortal and immortal life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved all the characters, well shaped and written. Well, I didn't like Dag, he is nasty, but he was needed in the story.

What about J. D. Hart’s performance did you like?

I've listened to all his books he narrated so far and JD still amazes me, the way he changes his voice to suit each character, sometimes I think there is more then one person narrating it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I went thru many emotions listening to this book, I think the best part was at the end when Paolo and Cara finally fated... mmmm

Any additional comments?

I would recommend this series to anyone and adding JD Hart's voice to it, I can promise hours of enjoyment. He brings the characters to life in such a way that you will not be able to stop listening.

Italian sensual romantic vampires

Would you consider the audio edition of Mortal Bite to be better than the print version?

The audio addition added elements to the book and enhanced the listening

What did you like best about this story?

All of it was a riveting listen from the sensual Italian accent that the narrator JD Hart brought to the very romantic scenes. The whole experience was a joy

Which character – as performed by J. D. Hart – was your favorite?

I loved them all but, i did have a soft spot for Paolo Monteleone the hero

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I went through several emotions while listening from sighing with pleasure when Paolo writes his letter. Smiling with joy at awesome very romantic love scenes to the sitting on the edge of my seat at the action.

Any additional comments?

I stopped and started this so many times to enjoy again JD Hart's very sensual accent and when he speaks Italian it gave me thrilling goose bumps. It was such a joy to just relax and listen to Sharon Hamilton's wonderful novel come to life through JD Hart's voice

Mortal Bite!!

Mortal Bite, book 2 of the Golden Vampires of Tuscany series written by S Hamil. We are still with the Montaleone’s as they face dire consequences. Paolo has met a human woman named Carabella and accidentally puts them and his family in harms way. It’s a bloody mess (see what I did there? It’s vampires) with lots of steamy sexy times while racing the clock to solve the puzzle and stop the bloodbath. Anyone want a sexy vampire??
