Publisher's summary

There's always fun to be had on a ghoul's night out. By day, Larue Donavan is a down-to-earth bookstore owner. But by night, she's a world-renowned psychic investigator dedicated to helping lost spirits find peace. Dead people won't leave her alone and Abraham Lincoln thinks he's in charge of her lovelife. Larue can handle ghosts and undead presidents. It's the living who drive her crazy. When Callahan Weiss moves to town, the handsome newcomer opens a coffee shop right next door. She's smitten from the start, but she's not the only one - the boutique owner across the street has her eye on Callahan too, and uses witchcraft to fight dirty. When Callahan gets hit by a love spell, Larue will need more than a little help from her ghoul-friends to save the day.

Sweet story

A sweet story about Laroue, a young woman with an unusual gift, she sees dead people and helps them cross over. Humour, mystery, some suspense and sleuthing mixed with some light romance makes this an enjoyable story. Listening to it narrated by Elisabeth Klett made it even more so. Perfect voice for this. Loved Ms. Klett's versatile voice, expressive and right pitch for each character. Loved the dynamics between Laroue and Mindy, the wild, and somewhat reckless best friend. And the ghosts that surround her are an interesting mix. The ending is hinting at more books to come, I will be checking them out.

Cute and entertaining

The story was fun, if not a little predictable. I like the characters, especially Larue. I really wish narrators reading stories set in The South actually had Southern accents though.

Her books are very fun to listen to and they are narrated very well by Elizabeth Kent.

loved the story

For a while, I fell out of love with suoernatural story characters. This one was really cute and short enough that I didn't get bored. Narrator made the characters come alive! Loved the story and the performance. Looking forward to istening to book 2!

Different and Entertaining!

Would you listen to Me and My Ghoulfriends again? Why?

This book has a fun twist to a "who done it" story about murder during a time when vampires, witches and other ghouls are part of regular society which gives it a great new twist. I really enjoyed this one.

What about Elizabeth Klett’s performance did you like?

Elizabeth Klett does an outstanding job with the narration. She brings each character to life by distinguish each one with it's own style and voice. Very easy to follow.

Any additional comments?

This is a fun and easy read.

Fun Paranormal Mystery

Where does Me and My Ghoulfriends rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoyed this audiobook a lot. I thought the characters, minus Breanna, were very likeable. This was a fun listen for me. It was light and easy to listen to. It also had a different take on the paranormal theme which was good. I'd say this ranks as a book that I enjoyed listening to.

What other book might you compare Me and My Ghoulfriends to and why?

I don't know what other books I would compare this to. It had a "Ghost Whisperer" feel to it that I liked. I loved the ghosts in this book, especially Abe.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Klett – was your favorite?

My favorite character performed by Elizabeth Klett was Larue. I thought Elizabeth Klett did a wonderful job with the entire book. Her performance was perfect. She's a very good voice actor and I hope to hear more from her in the future.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were no big moving moments in this book. It was just good plain fun and kept my interest the whole time. I look forward to more from this author in the future as well as the narrator. Both were good.

It's okay

Wasn't very humorous. Characters were bland. The love interest was good but the main character was not what I would have said courageous or strong even as she was a ghost hunter. She was wimpy, unsure of herself guarded and kind of stupid. Good story line.

Could've been better

I love the genre and the paranormal elements. I have read other books by this author and appreciated her humor and characters. This was like a soup that never boiled. All of the ingredients were there but without the heat to pull them together, it wasn't palatable. Maybe the rest of the series will add the flavor.

Entertaining

Any additional comments?

Lightweight. Repetitive,. Too much eyebrow wiggling by too many characters. Character development lacking. I skipped through it hoping it would pick up the pace. But it was good for a quick entertainment.
