Very entertaining.

I really liked this story, the author knows how to hook you and keep you entertained. Oh my to have to marry when you don't want to and to a man as mean as her fathers found for her is mind blowing. But not everything is as it seems when it comes to this man. The things he does is mind blowing, there is really something wrong with him. I thought the plot was great, it is a believable story and I would think this has happened more in real life than you would know. Maude takes the bull by the horns and takes back her life, she is a wonderful character. John is a delightful character who is strong but gentle and knows how to keep his woman safe. I loved the plot and characters, the author gives a believable story that you will fall in love with.

The narrator did a good job, there were times when she paused when maybe she didn't need to but she does put good emotion into her voice with wonderful character voices. There are no repeating of words, no background noise, no volume changes. Her character voices are good both male and female, you always know who is talking and what they are feeling. I thought she did a good job and enjoyed her narration.

Speed reading

Whew! I feel almost out of breath just listening to this. The story was short but sweet. However, the reading was done way too fast! It left me wondering if Amanda was related to a certain character in the book. She seemed never to slow down, as well. It certainly was not a relaxing experience.

The original RUNAWAY BRIDE

This is another story about a girl being forced into a marriage without any choice of her own. The only thing that I really complain about is the "whiny" voice of the narrator on the AUDIBLE version.

Start of this wonderful series

I was excited to start this new series and it was all I had hoped for with the wonderful writing of Kirsten Osbourne and narration of Amanda Friday.
Escaping being married to an older disgusting man that her father worked for, our heroine answers a mail order bride add after visiting the matchmaker. Not knowing what to expect, she is surprised at her attraction.
Great first in the series and cannot wait for more!

Lovely Novella...

This a first time read by Kirsten Osbourne and a nicely written novella. Narration was performed by Amanda Friday a new narrator to this listener. She did a good job at narrating this short and sweet story.

fun storyline

I really enjoyed this opening into the Beckham bride series. It's short and sweet. I have bought all of them for my Kindle and it was fun to hear it out loud. Hope she keeps adding the rest of the series.

Don't miss this series!

I love the romance of mail order bride stories! This is the first novel in my favorite of that type of series. Amanda Friday makes the character sound whiny, but that is appropriate since she is a young, coddled only child. I love the way the couple settles in together, each filling a void of sorts for the other. Though short, this is so enjoyable a romance, I highly recommend it.

Nice Story

Maude is a 19-yr. old girl whose parents are forcing her to marry a lecherous man 20 years her senior. In a panic, she applies to be a mail-order bride to a farmer in Iowa. It’s a lovely story of redemption and love.
