Publisher's summary

They are the bad boys of Brazos Bend - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John Callahan.

New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly best-selling author Emily March invites listeners to travel from Eternity Springs to Brazos Bend, the small hometown of the Callahan brothers snuggled deep in the heart of Texas.

DEA agent Luke Callahan has suffered one loss too many and a fishing trip with his brothers is just what his broken spirit needs to heal. What he doesn't need is a gorgeous stowaway harboring secrets and running from killers. Never mind that he does his best work undercover.

Maddie Kincaid is accustomed to trouble, but she'd hoped to leave it behind when she settled in peaceful Brazos Bend. Who would have guessed that helping a gentle old man would land her in the middle of an attempted murder - her own? Now she's running for her life - straight into the arms of the infamous Luke Callahan.

Lucky for her, he's deadlier than the men chasing her. Unfortunately for him, protecting her means breaking a vow he holds dear. When the nights heat up and the secrets start to spill, Luke faces a brand new danger - losing the woman he loves. What's a mad, bad, and lethal Callahan man gonna do?

A great start to 2 series!

Although I got this book as a gift from the author, I had this in ebook form for quite awhile. I have so enjoyed this as well as a tie in series that I will get the rest of the books as they become available. This series is about 4 trouble making teens who have all grown up to be excellent men. Nothing shabby about that!! The 4th brother is the beginning of the Eternity Springs series , also well worth all the credits as these are enjoyable enough to listen to over and over. I have enjoyed this author since I first started reading her work.

Fantastic!

Would you consider the audio edition of Luke - The Callahan Brothers to be better than the print version?

I loved both equally.

What other book might you compare Luke - The Callahan Brothers to and why?

Becky McGraw's Deep Six Security series. Fantastic romantic suspense stories.

Which scene was your favorite?

So many to pick from. I loved the letters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The letters.

Any additional comments?

This is a fantastic start to this series. Emily March never fails to hook me from the very beginning in every single book.

Wonderful listen!

Welcome to Brazos Bend! Luke Callahan is as mysterious as he is good looking! Something strange is happening in his former hometown and he's determined to get to the bottom of it. He didn't count on losing his heart in the process.

Emily March has done it again in this perfect blend of romance, mystery and suspense. She's created the perfect setting and captured that small town charm once again. This book is adorable and will steal your heart.

This story is amazing....romance and suspense and the author does a fantastic job drawing us readers in. I usually read books, but bought audio and it makes the story come to life. The narrator does a great job and keeps you engaged.

Maddie was just trying to help, now she needs help

What made the experience of listening to Luke - The Callahan Brothers the most enjoyable?

Maddie was only trying to help a client, now she needs help from ex DEA agent Luke. I had previously read the book and loved it. However, listening to audiobook brings the story to life in a different way. The narrator reading Luke helps to convey the sublties and nuisances I missed just reading the book.

What did you like best about this story?

After initial encounter the pair faces suspense, passion, soul searching, disappointment, understanding, reconciliation, and a possibility of something lasting. I appreciate that the author took the time to tell Luke and Maddie's background story,. This allowed me as a reader to become fully invested in the characters and their joint storyline.

What about Jeffrey Kafer’s performance did you like?

Jeffrey Kafer performance authenticated the telling of Luke's story. It was a refreshing change to have a male narrator bring the story to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Maddie and Luke's initial encounter on the Miss Behavin was humorous.

Any additional comments?

If you are a fan of the Eternity Springs series, this book is slightly more daring, but gives insight into John Gabriel Callahan's family history. Wanting to read more books by Emily March, I discovered the Brazos Bend Series. I look forward to reading and listening to the other Brazos books about the Callahan Brothers. Emily March continues to be one of my favorite authors. I encourage you to listen to Luke.

Disclaimer I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook in exchange for my honest opinion

A marvelous listen.

Loved this book. A nice blend of romance and suspense with a little humor thrown in. Emily March's Brazos Bend series is a little edgier than her Eternity Springs books, but the author knows how to tell a story. The narrator does a great job of inviting the reader into the story without calling attention to himself, letting me slip into the story of Brazos Bend and enjoy every moment of this enthralling story.

Gotta Love those Callahan Bros!!!!

Any additional comments?

I am a big Emily March Fan , I love all her books ! This series was like getting the history of Gab from Eternity Springs. This Family is about as screwed up as mine but with more sizzle!

Entertaining blend of romance, mystery, & suspense

Fun book. Really liked the main characters and the story kept me guessing. The old man is a hoot--reminded me of my dad. Narration is excellent. Jeffery Kafer does a good job with the female voices. I'm definitely buying the next book.
