Publisher's Summary

Battered by the sea, Adam remembers nothing of his past, his ducal rank, nor of the shipwreck that almost claimed his life. However, he's delighted to hear that the golden-haired vision tending his wounds is his wife. Mariah's name and face may not be familiar, but her touch, her warmth, feel deliciously right...When Mariah Clarke prayed for a way to deter a bullying suitor, she didn't imagine she'd find the answer washed ashore on a desolate beach. Convincing Adam that he is her husband is surprisingly easy. Resisting the temptation to act his wife, in every way, will prove anything but. And now a passion begun in fantasy has become dangerously real-and completely irresistible...

Good summer read

A fun romantic novel. The narration is great and made the story interesting. I enjoyed the story line and characters.

Start of a Series

I wasn't too excited about the description of this book, but when I was looking at some of Putney's other books, I realized this was part of a series: The Lost Lords. This is book 1 and audible has 4 of the 5 books. I had already read "No Longer a Gentleman" and had the feeling I was stepping into a story that had already started because of the way it referenced other characters, so I was pleased to figure out that this was the start of that series.

I like to start at the beginning, makes for greater understanding and allows the story to build. Despite the bland description, I found this to be an enjoyable read with likable characters. I will be reading the rest of the series.
