Publisher's summary

Sometimes, the hardest part of finding love is keeping a straight face...For Jamie Newman, being a single guy isn't proving to be much fun, especially when confronted with a sexually belligerent divorcee and a goddess so far out of his league she might as well be a different species.

Mind you, being a girl in search of love isn't a bowl of cherries either. Just ask Laura McIntyre, who's recently contended with a horny estate agent on a quest for light relief and a rabid mountain bike enthusiast with a penchant for lycra that leaves little to the imagination.

When Jamie and Laura bump into one another (quite literally) it looks like their luck may have changed - but sometimes finding the right person is only the start of your problems...

Love...From Both Sides is a warts-and-all romantic comedy for everyone who knows how tricky the quest for love can be.

Delightful and funny

The fajitas episode alone is worth the price of the book, but there is much, much more.

Funny

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I listened to this book at work with hidden head phones, don't do this. I was laughing out loud and my coworkers thought I was crazy.

too vulgar

I read fat chance and found it fairly funny and entertaining so I thought reading another nick Spalding book was an easy choice... but the first chapter of this book made me digusted and I felt sick a few times. maybe I'm just a prude ( more than maybe, I guess I am because nobody else has said anything in the reviews thus far) but if you aren't into a really raunchy read, pass on this. can't attest for the rest of the book beyond the first chapter, but a huge disappointment for me. Scared to try any of his other books.

Stupid Funny!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Love...From Both Sides to be better than the print version?

I don't think a print version could give you the same effect. This book was hysterical..........

What was one of the most memorable moments of Love...From Both Sides?

The cat scene was too ridiculous... I had to get my husband to listen...........cracked us up!

Which character – as performed by Heather Wilds and Napoleon Ryan – was your favorite?

Jamie read by Napoleon Ryan was my favorite.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The narration was so good I ended up getting the other two books in the series. I will listen to it again. I laughed throughout the book.

Any additional comments?

Worth the credit.

Thank you for correctly referring to Type 2 Diabetes :)

I enjoyed the book. It was definitely funny and entertaining. I wouldn't have left a review until I heard the reference, used correctly to Type 2 Diabetes. As a mom of a 7 year old son with Type 1, I'm always listening to general references to diabetes and they make me sad, for many reasons. Although Type 2 can also be genetic and many times is no one's "fault" I was pleased you added the Type 2 in there since you chose to mention diabetes. Thank you!

Not to my liking

Well written book, but I don't want to spend time with characters spending time with people they don't like, doing things they don't enjoy. I don't enjoy it either. A lot of reviewers thought the story was funny, so it is just a matter of taste. I found the explicit descriptions of mundane encounters more depressing then entertaining. I didn't listen to the whole book because unpleasant encounters are not funny to me, they are just unpleasant.

Fun frolic filled with dating misadventures

I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. It was light, funny, and filled with the embarrassing things that can happen when two people are trying to find each other. Definitely a beach read (or listen). Sometimes you just want something that's easy to digest, and quite entertaining. Nick Spalding has that down in spades.

A Fun Book from a Fun Series!

I have purchased all of these but I don't want to listen to them too close together - I think one could easily get tired of them so I space them out with more serious books in between in order to maintain the enjoyment.

The funniest part was when Laura has a blind date with a guy who shows up in bike shorts who is very full of himself. I was driving along laughing out loud!

The format is alternating between Laura's diary and Jamie's BLog, before and after they meet and fall in love. The male angle in Jamie's part saves the book from being pure chick lit I suppose, although I think this book will appeal more to women than to men - but I could be wrong!
