Gabe can't deal with the sudden, intense need he has for one of NYPD's Most Wanted. Everyone close to Angelo Pagan ends up dead, with the smug gang leader standing amid the rubble. Gabe would love nothing more than to bust Angelo's ass and lock him up. So why is he seeing the bastard in his dreams at night? Angelo Pagan knows attraction to Gabe is suicide. He's resolute to ignore the chemistry…until a police raid goes wrong. He critically injures Gabe, changing the trajectory of both their lives. Now the two can't get close enough. YES!!!! One of my favorite m/m series!!!

I totally preordered all four books in this series and eagerly waited from them to release... I got this series on e-book... and was hoping for it to be narrated...

It was awesome...

Angel and his cop Gabe really set this entire series off on a grand scale... I loved Angel!!!

I absolutely loved the narrator... as I read this book before, so I really expected a lot from the narrator, as there is a lot of Spanish... Renard Pasquale nailed it!!! He transition from Spanish to English perfectly, and even narrated Angel with a Spanish accent... Perfection!!

Any fan of m/m romance need to have this entire series in their collection... One of the good ones... It has drama (gang/cop action); romance (smexy scene that leave you panting) and last but not least... a storyline (it's a series with reappearing characters).

Great buy/sale/credit!!

Interesting premise that failed a bit in execution

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

There was too much sex and not enough character or relationship building so I'd have to say no...

What could Avril Ashton have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Make the men less emotional. Decrease the frequency of sex scenes. Actually show why these men are in love with each other beyond lust at first sight...

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Somewhat. Some of the narrative was brought down by overacting on the narrator's part.

Could you see Love the Sinner being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Well if they cn find an actor who looks and sounds like a younger Andy Garcia or a taller version of Antonio Banderas, then that guy can play Angelo. Gabe... I don't know.

Any additional comments?

I found out about Ellora's Cave not paying their authors the royalty they're due. If I'd known about that beforehand I wouldn't have purchased this title. I know there are 3 other books in this series and that they're much better than this book but I'm going to hold off on purchasing them until Ellora's Cave can sort themselves out.

All Time Favorite!

This is my first M/M audio book, I read the book prior to diving into the audio version. It's wonderful!!!!
I love the narrator and how the brought the characters justice with his voice.

If you really think hard about the premise of the book, the story, it seemed over the top, even close to saying it's impossible. However, for some awesome reason, Avril made it so that it didn't came out as a bunch of BS. The story seemed more interesting, you can't help but root for the MCs.

It's an against-all-odds kind of love story. It's also a love-conquers-all love story. It's my favorite from the series. 5 stars all the way!

Literally one of my all time favorite narrations!

Gabe is an NYPD police detective working on the drug crimes in NYC. He investigates Los Ps – a gang involved in guns and drugs – run by Angelo Pagan. While interrogating Angelo something crazy happens and the previously only straight cop finds himself lusting after the gay criminal.

Angelo, too, finds Gabe intriguing, and despite the obvious craziness and danger in the situation, the two embark on a slow but hot relationship.

Eventually, something will have to change. Gabe cannot stay in his profession and be with Angelo at the same time – but what will he choose? His life or his love?

**

This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE AUDIOBOOKS!

I’m going to have to include my review of the Audio with the book here because OMG the two MUST be experienced together! Renard Pasquale NAILS this. He is a WONDER. He did the Brooklyn accent, the Hispanic accent, the Spanish words, the passion, the emotion, the danger… all of it impeccably. Avril Ashton writes HOT and DARK romances and Renard’s voice just works so perfectly here.

While the story seems totally impossible, somehow Avril makes it seem plausible, possible and pre-destined. Gabe and Angelo share that kind of love that really epic love stories are all about. When you have to give up everything for the one you love… wow … that’s devotion.

The smexy times are OFF THE CHARTS hot and the feels – wow – so many feels – all the feels!

I’ve loved and listened to this many times over the years and I can’t believe this is my first time sitting down and writing a review for it!

If you haven’t read/listened to this series you are seriously missing out. I won’t lie – there are parts that are hard to listen to and it’s a dark story – but the end is so sunshiny bright and beautiful – it’s totally worth the ride.

(One teeny tiny criticism – I didn’t care for Syren voice at all – he carries that same voice over for Syren’s story and it’s the one in the four part collection that I didn’t adore. I liked it a lot – but between the BDSM and Syren voice it fell easily to my least favorite of the lot.)

I really liked this, although I shouldn't

Honestly, I really shouldn’t love this book as much as I do. Objectively, this really is not a very good book. It is an overly sappy, unrealistic alpha male, instalove read, which would make more sense in a shifter book, but whatever. That said, for some reason I loved it. I love Angelo and Gabe’s relationship. They are just too cute!! Big tough men exposing their feelings to each other in a very sappy way. It will definitely not appeal to everyone. This is NOT Ty and Zane in Brooklyn. This couple has a very different dynamic. The narrator does a really good job bringing diversity and emotion to the characters, and there is a lot of emotion in this story. Not Cardeno C levels, but a good amount. I think it is worth a credit. On to Book 2.

Gabe and Angel

What made the experience of listening to Love the Sinner the most enjoyable?

The narrator, but for whatever reason, I did not like the voice of Gabe, It did not match what he was doing in the story, or maybe I just did not like Gabe, don't know..

If you’ve listened to books by Avril Ashton before, how does this one compare?

This is the first I have seen of audio for her books

Have you listened to any of Renard Pasquale’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no, first but definitely not the last.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Neither, this was good for the kick off of the series, and a necessity to read or listen to to get to the next books, but 2 and 3 are my favorites.

Held my attention all the way through

I love this story. It has such strong emotion. Two characters that are on opposite sides are so strongly attracted to each other. A detective and a mafia boss, what could be the problems. They all surface yet the attraction between these two made me hope for the impossible. Both main characters Gabe and Angelo are likable. Both get tossed into situations that don’t want to deal with. I think I was more drawn to the criminal actually but overall I had to hope for both of them. The author did a great job of throwing in things yet not really describing them. The jail time could have contained a lot more. The suspicion might have been stronger, yet this story flowed at a good pace. The Narrator, Renard Pasquale, did an excellent job of making the characters and situations realistic. I would strongly recommend this story.
