Publisher's summary

Number one bestselling author Janet Evanovich teams up with award-winning author Dorien Kelly to deliver a sparkling novel of romantic suspense, small-town antics, secretive sabotage, and lots and lots of beer

Kate Appleton needs a job. Her husband has left her, she's been fired from her position as a magazine editor, and the only place she wants to go is to her parents' summer house, The Nutshell, in Keene's Harbor, Michigan. Kate's plan is to turn The Nutshell into a Bed and Breakfast. Problem is, she needs cash, and the only job she can land is less than savory.
Matt Culhane wants Kate to spy on his brewery employees. Someone has been sabotaging his company, and Kate is just new enough in town that she can insert herself into Culhane's business and snoop around for him. If Kate finds the culprit, Matt will pay her a $20,000 bonus. Needless to say, Kate is highly motivated. But several problems present themselves. Kate despises beer. No one seems to trust her. And she is falling hard for her boss.

Can these two smoke out a saboteur, save Kate's family home, and keep a killer from closing in…all while resisting their undeniable attraction to one another? Filled with humor, heart, and loveable characters, Love in a Nutshell is delicious fun.

Excellent performance okay story

What did you love best about Love in a Nutshell?

I loved listening to Lorelei King. I felt that it wasn't as funny as I was expecting and the storyline was a little weak. I think I will like the book better after multiple listens.

If you???ve listened to books by Janet Evanovich and Dorien Kelly before, how does this one compare?

This was their first collaboration. I think they will gel better if they work together more often.

Which character ??? as performed by Lorelei King ??? was your favorite?

I liked Matt, Kate and the villain.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed when Kate talked about all the problems Kate was having with her house. I also liked how mushy her parents were and Kate's reaction to it.

Any additional comments?

If you like Janet Evanovich I would still give this book a try. I think this book will grow on people.

Like an Ice Cream Sundae

Just like an ice cream sundae, which is yummy to taste but not very nutritious, this book is just fun. It's like a brain vacation! If you're looking for something deep and challenging, this is not the book for you! I enjoyed the characters and the story was good. I really like the narrator. I'm used to her in the Stephanie Plum novels. She's great! Again, if you're looking for dessert, get this book and have fun!

Evanovich does it again

What made the experience of listening to Love in a Nutshell the most enjoyable?

Great reader, Fast paced and funny story. Her stories are timeless. This is just fun to listen to while gardening or working on a mindless task. Most of my audio listening is done while working on tasks that need the tedium broken up and this book did the job splendidly.

Cute story, hard to listen

What did you like best about Love in a Nutshell? What did you like least?

The story was fun, the characters likeable, nice summer read... but I wish I had purchased the actual book. I found the narrator's delivery very annoying. Okay, now I'm being picky, but I found her to be too breathy, drawing out the last syllable of the last word of most every sentence. I couldn't get past it.

A fun listen

I really enjoyed listening to this audio book. It followed the predictable formula for Janet's books, but I never tire of it. The mystery is interesting and the characters are fun. I can't wait for the next Evanovich book or the next collaboration. Lorelei King is just the best.

A typically enjoyable Jane Evanovich story

What other book might you compare Love in a Nutshell to and why?

It was nice to be introduced to different characters, but I missed Stephanie Plum, Lulu, and Morelli!

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I always enjoy Lorlei King's performance....especially combined with Janet Evanovich's style of writing.
