Publisher's summary

They say love covers a multitude of sins, and for matchmakers Mercy, Martha, and Maude, it's a good thing! Fearing the town's new pastor is lonely, they decide to take matters into their own hands and order him a mail-order bride! Imagine his surprise when he finds out. Only he doesn't! Mercy, Martha, and Maude see to that!

Winnie Longfellow has spent years caring for her sick mother, and now that she's passed, Winnie has nowhere to go but her aunt Eugina's. But her aunt has other things on her mind, other problems to deal with, and so Winnie accepts a proposal from a pastor out west looking for a mail-order bride. Little does she know, he is looking for so much more - anything more! He has no idea he's sent for one! Now Winnie finds herself at the mercy of three madcap matrons determined that love will find a way. Despite multiple misunderstandings, a horrid bully and gossip, and a woman she's sure her intended will marry instead of her, Winnie discovers some things about herself and finds that love really does find its way....

Nice Story

I could hardly finish the book. The narrator was horrible but I was intrigued by the plot and wanted to hear it through. Love the author and have listened to books but this was terrible.

A Great Book

This book is so good. The match makers are at it again. These three old wemon thinks that the pastor needs a bride. So the order him one and don't tell him. There is a whole lot happens when she arrives. This is a must listen to one if there ever was. The bride was so sweet and nieve. She has a stuttering problem that makes you fall in love with her. Michael Rahhal did a great job this book with all his different voices he can do. If my review was any help will you please click the helpful link below. Thank you

Laughter and Love!

What happens when you put three meddling women together? A mail order bride for the the town's new pastor! No matter that Pastor Luke Adams had no idea who the young lady was that arrived in town. I loved, loved, loved this story and laughing out loud at the three ladies Mercy, Martha & Maude and also the maid Betsy! Michael Rahhal is amazing, I seriously do not know how he does the different voices so seamlessly. He truly has an amazing gift.
I love this town and the people of Independence! A dominant over the top mother who is determined to have Luke marry her daughter, pushing them together as much as she can.
I want to tell you the entire story but you really need to read or for a really great experience, listen to the audible.. Truly amazing...

Three biddies with good intentions. Two innocents with instant attraction. One harpy with intentions of her own. What could go wrong?

Narrator was awesome, as usual.

A heartwarming mail order bride romance!

What did you like best about this story?

Love in Independence continues the journey of many characters that we have come to know in the Holiday Mail Order Bride series. The characters are entertaining and well developed. The story line is fresh and mingles characters from previous books so you feel like the story continues where it left off. The plot moves along at a good pace. This is a sweet and delightful story that will captivate you and keep your attention from the beginning to the end.

What does Michael Rahhal bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Michael Rahhal did a fantastic job on the narration. He really brought the characters to life. He did a great job with the different accents, especially the Irish accent. Sometimes his impersonations made me giggle. I had to laugh every single time he said “uhh huh”. You can hear the passion in his performance with the concise and clear speech while adding depth to the story.

Any additional comments?

Kit Morgan is one of my favorite authors. I know that when I pick up one of her books that I won’t be disappointed. Even though this is part of a series, each book can be read as a stand-alone. I have read/listened to each book back to back. If you are looking for a good mail order bride series to start, then I recommend to start with the Holiday Mail Order Bride series. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a heartwarming mail order bride romance.
