Publisher's summary

All's fair in love and war, and Sophie is determined to win the battle for her aunt Maud's cattle ranch - even if it means fighting Elijah, a rude ex-military man. But it seems that even from the grave Aunt Maud is still matchmaking; her will states that both Sophie and Elijah must share the ranch evenly, and neither wants to give up a share. But Sophie's main focus is on the ranch, not romance; she just put her life back together after being betrayed in her previous marriage.

As the two work side by side, their feelings begin to change. But before they can find their happily ever after, Elijah must see through Sophie's hard armor to the sweet soul beneath, and Sophie must help Elijah overcome his wartime nightmares of fallen friends. In Life After Wife, second chances and true love are strong, triumphing amid heartache and despair.

I liked the story but

I liked the storyline and the characters from all three books. however, this last book seemed to end abruptly. I was a little bewildered by his proposal and her acceptance.

Titles Don't mean a thing!!

I'm a huge fan of every Audio book Iv e gotten by author Carolyn Brown. This title Life After Wife, I stayed away from for awhile and am I sorry I did! The concept is well explained in her story,so far from what I imaged! Carolyn Brown has done it again! Brittany Pressley as well.

2nd time reading

Read this book a 2nd time after reading bk 1 and enjoyed it even better since I knew the characters better. I would recommend this book as well as book one. I don't remember reading bk 2. I'm headed for that one next.

To short

This book was tooo short! I kept wanting more. I was who led when it ended abruptly. However, it did end the way I wanted it to end, but way to soon.

Yes, Life After Wife

I love this book and the fact that it takes place in Baird, Texas where we have our dear lease and I know the town and all the other towns mentioned . My only complaint is Brittany Pressley's repeated mispronunciation of "Pecan". She says PEE-CAN. No!! it is Puh-Kawn. No self-respecting southerner ever says PEE-CAN . It is our favorite nut and it grates on our ever loving last nerve. Secondly is the pronunciation of Abilene, Texas. It is not pronounced Abeleeeen as Ms. Pressley says. No emphasis on the Leeen. I know it may seem silly to complain about it, but when you have lived in Texas your whole life it can be grating. i wish Ms. Pressley would come ha g pit on Texas for a bit...😁Otherwise I absolutely loved this audible book.
