Publisher's summary

The epic story of a world before Columbus - and a woman bound by a sacred legacy that will live for all time...She is called Antelope, the daughter of Kwani - She Who Remembers. Possessed of the same mystical powers that made her mother beloved and feared, Antelope takes her infant daughter and follows her wandering mate to the fabled city of the Great Sun. Here, her beauty arouses the lust of the city’s supreme ruler - a man who will become her most terrible enemy. And here, in a place of primitive splendor and savage human sacrifice, far from her people and torn from the man she loves, Antelope must struggle for her survival...and to keep her child safe at all costs.

Just okay

The story was well written but the narrator was like listening to corn dry. I like listening to stories that have history in them but the narrator ruined it by the monotone voice and boring storytelling.

captivating series

This series is one of the best I have ever read. The characters are easy to get involved with. I am an avid reader of Indian history and this writer is by far my favorite. ( about 50 yrs of reading and going on for more). Be sure you read the whole series (3 books) I would have liked more.

Let the Drum Speak

Enjoyed this story, based on an Anasazi woman and her trader half Toltec husband who ended up in the land of the Mound Builders for the final edition of this 3 book series. I enjoyed it very much.

Like the cycles of the Seasons; All Turns, turns!

Excellent experience and for me, very emotional, being one raised along the Mississippi and very interested in the history of the Mound Builders and Pueblo peoples.
As my own journey continues to cycle like all of life and time. I find deep ties to the life and experiences of the earliest, True Americans.
Well written and historically correct from my self sought-after information.
I can only hope, that enough modern Americans will find this story and think of what it should truly be, as a modern American and give our prehistory and historical continental ancestors their due respect.
I believe we are all brothers and sisters of the World, a single Rainbow Tribe. A Ho.

I love Linda Lay Shuler

Maybe not for everyone but these books are easy to listen to. The characters are good, the setting is vivid, the narration is spot on, a good "read".

Fantastic story and historically accurate.

Loved it and it was a great way to wrap up the trilogy. If you like ancient native people stories, like clan of the cave bear, you should really enjoy this as well!!

loved the historical aspect of the book. Gives you an insight as to what life was like before the Europeans came over.
