Publisher's Summary

Book One in the French Twist Series.
Lexi Stuart is at a critical crossroads. She's done with college but still living at home, ready to launch a career but unable to find a job, and solidly stalled between boyfriends.
When a lighthearted conversation in French with the manager of her favorite bakery turns into a job offer, Lexi accepts. But the actual glamour is minimal: the pay is less than generous, her co-workers are skeptical, her bank account remains vertically-challenged, and her parents are perpetually disappointed. Her only comfort comes from the flirtatious baker she has her eye - but even may not be who he seems to be!
So when a handsome young executive dashes into the bakery to pick up his high profile company's special order for an important meeting - an order Lexi has flubbed - she loses her compulsion to please. Something inside Lexi clicks. Laissez la révolution commencer! Let the revolution begin!
Instead of trying to fulfill everyone else's expectations for her life, Lexi embarks on an adventure in trusting herself and God with her future - très bon!
This book is written from a lightly Christian world view.

Fun Faith-Centered Chick Lit

"Let Them Eat Cake" is a charming story about finding your place in the world- even when it turns out differently than you'd hoped. This story had realistic, likable characters that grew and changed throughout the story which kept me listening to find out what would happen to them next. I particularly liked the main character Lexi- a millennial trying to figure out who she wanted to be and what she believed in. I also loved hearing about the French bakery where she worked, and hearing some of the recipes she created. I enjoyed the faith element in the story- and how Lexi's belief in God morphed from just attending church occasionally to finding a faith of her own. I thought the narrator did an excellent job- she really picked up the emotions of the characters. My only criticism would be that there was a lot of inner monologue which slowed the story down in a few parts- but other than that I loved it and can't wait to listen to the next one!

Wonderful Clean Love Story

This is a lovely story about a Christian girl starting out life. Throughout the book I felt like I could relate to the character as I have many things in common with her. This is just the beginning of her love story and so you have to read (listen to) the other two books in order to find out what happens! The narrator does an excellent job she has a very sweet voice. I highly recommend this book and any of Sandra Byrd's books!
