Publisher's summary

Katie Ashley, the New York Times best-selling author of Redemption Road and Vicious Cycle, returns to the dangerous and seductive world of the Hells Raiders motorcycle club.

After her father was murdered in the line of duty, ATF agent Samantha Vargas is determined to take down the scumbags of the drug trade. When her partner takes on a case to infiltrate the Hells Raiders MC, Samantha agrees to go undercover as his old lady…but is surprised to find herself drawn to the very man she is investigating.

Benjamin "Bishop" Malloy has worked hard to carve a place for himself both in and out of the MC world. Working days as a mechanic, he spends his nights rebuilding motorcycles with the hope of one day owning his own shop. After taking one of the club's new hang-arounds under his wing, Bishop is conflicted over his growing attraction for the man's girlfriend.

Even though she's determined to bring down the Raiders, Samantha discovers their world isn't as black and white as she thought. And as the stakes grow higher, she's in danger of losing more than her heart.

The male actor was like listening to nails on chalkboard

I couldn’t finish it. The voices the male character did for the other men were grating on my ears. I just couldn’t continue. Maybe I’ll just read the rest.

Male narrator was terrible

The story was very good. However, the male narrator was so bad that if I had not wanted to know Bishop's story, I would have turned it off within the first five minutes.

Tame romance.. Made my heart go pittg pat.

I am reading the series. The romance sessions are not too long as in some books The plot is overall predictable but the fillers are interesting. I would recommend this book to people who travel (car radio)

SEXY!

What did you love best about Last Mile?

I never thought I'd like a romance novel until I listened to this audiobook recommended by a friend. I've always been intrigued by the biker world and although this is fiction, I really felt drawn into the environment as written by the author and narrated by the actors. I loved Samantha! I thought the love story between her and Bishop was so sexy and ultimately a romantic fantasy - but hey, who said we shouldn't dream or in this case... fantasize? =)

Have you listened to any of Julian Durant and Kristina Klebe ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have never heard either before but I loved both narrators, especially Kristina Klebe as Samantha. I thought she transformed effortlessly from a tough ATF agent into a woman who finally allowed her heart to open. I also liked how clearly she separated the different characters tonally and was strangely obsessed with her Bishop voice. I never felt taken out of the story once by either narrator and would love to hear more work from both.

I love me some Bishop!

Let me start by saying that, I have officially added a new favorite male narrator to my list; right below Sebastian York. Mr. Durant has a panty melting voice.(sigh)

As for the novel, it was totally predictable. Almost every phase of the plot was predictable, but I still enjoyed it. Yes, there were a few dorky lines.(I just shook my head and continued on) This book wasn’t nearly as emotionally deep as Rev’s story but, sometimes it’s nice to get through a book without swollen eyes.
Is this a great piece of literature? No, sorry, it’s not. It is a feel-good romance with a few bumps in the road.

Quit listening and read the story!

The performers ruined this story for me..... so much so that I downloaded the story and read it instead (which I recommend). It was disappointing to me since KA is one of my favorite authors. The story is well written and not her typical heroine is saved kind of story line. In this story, the hero and heroine kind of save each other. Nothing is black and white .... and sometimes you have to let go to be happy.

Kristina Klebe sounds like Scarlett Johansson!

So unexpected! I expected the typical over the top narrator voice and was shocked at how intriguing and realistic this narrator made Samantha. Seems like no coincidence that the name of Johanssons character in Her was also Samantha! Bishops narration was also strong. This sequel was perfect and I hope they do more. Loved listening to this book.
