Publisher's summary

Part-time bartender Erin Gardner is friendly to everyone who bellies up to her bar, including the local law enforcement and firefighters who keep her city safe. That's where she meets game warden Conor Paxton, a regular who she asks to join a canoeing trip she's leading for her university day job. When the trip leads to something more, Erin couldn't be happier.

Conor adores Erin, more than enough to help her continue to get over lingering self-esteem issues from her childhood. He's thrilled he's found someone who enjoys spending time in nature as much as he does.

Just when the couple thinks they're on their way to a happily ever after, Erin finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. But there's no way she'll just lay down and die. She's woman enough to save herself -- and lead her man to her when she's done.

Way to go Erin!

Holy campfires! I loved his story, for multiple reasons, and as I got through chapter after chapter those reasons grew.

Erin is a character (not unlike the others) that you just love from the start. We all have our inner demons and thing’s about ourselves that we wish we could change. Erin is no different. She has body issues that stem from a hateful mother, and the loss of her father. Years of mental abuse have turned her into the woman she is today, but a certain game warden is determined to get to know all of her secrets.

When things get rough and the unthinkable happens, Conor will do anything and everything he can to save the woman who has stolen his heart.

This story has a lot of love, hurt and action in it. I have to say, it’s one of my favorites of this series.

I have been going back and forth about reading / listening to this story. I am seriously over weight right now. I once had lost a lot of weight and felt great then after kids, the weight is back. It is depressing and repressive right now. I thought this story would bring up too many unwanted emotions. Instead, it has motivated me to try again.

Erin is so strong and even when faced with the unthinkable, fights to live and flourish. With all the support and hope in her future, hoe could she not.

Erin Mallon did another fantastic job bringing this story to life. I'm on to listen to TJ & Milena's story again.

Another great story!

I always enjoy stories by Susan Stoker! This audiobook was about a woman with a lot of emotional problems and body dysmorphic disorder. She’s never had s boyfriend or even been kissed, when at 35 she meets a man who she really likes and is attracted to. He’s a game warden and often comes by the bar where she works her second job. She gets up the courage to ask him to come on a canoeing trip she’s guiding and they hit it off. As they slowly build a relationship, he’s patient and loving. Then, on a camping trip they planned together, she disappears. Can they get back to each other before it’s too late? Great narration too!

Erin is bad ass!

She is so quiet and don't have enough self esteem but she is a warrior. I'm amazed and Connor is too!!! I love them! Great book and great narrator. Susan Stoker books are must read.

Susan Stoker is a must buy for me! So good!

Stoker never disappoints and I love this series. I love camping and the outdoors, so that added another element to love. Her stories are sweet, exciting and people talk/act in ways that seem believable. If you are new to the series, you will get the most out of them by starting at the beginning... lucky you. : )

Connor and Erin

Susan Stoker has done it again! Another winner in her series of bad ass guys and spunky heroines. And Stoker certainly enjoys reading us in the epilogue with a taste of what's to come. Can't wait to read TJ and Milena's story next.
