This was a great story. Piper is a strong and sassy she wolf using her feminine wiles as a spy. She's independent and very likable. However, she refuses to mate because a family tragedy. After her backstory, and her relationship with her father, I don't blame her. Jace is also a very lovable character. He's strong, loyal and he believes in Piper even when she doesn't believe in herself. However he also refuses to take a mate because he can't shift because he can't control his Wolf.
I enjoyed seeing this couple grow together and let their guard down. I also enjoyed the adventure and the mystery in the story. It's the perfect balance of action and romance. The introduction to the Colonel was perfect as well. His actions in this book had affected so many in this book series/ universe. I'm excited to see how Jared's story will unfold. The only thing I hated was the mating scene at the end. Things got a bit too freaky for me.
River Pack Wolves Book Two
When Piper Wilding shows up at the River Pack's safe house claiming that her brother, Noah, is missing, Jace immediately signs on to help rescue the other wolf. However, Piper's other brother, Daniel, isn't convinced. Piper knows she cannot wait on men to make a decision regarding her brother's life, so she steals Daniel's clearance pass and sneaks onto the military base to find answers. Daniel and Jace come to the rescue, but an old enemy makes an appearance and now Jace knows that Noah's disappearance might be connected to others.
J. F. Harding and Laura Hopatcong could have been great narrators if the only characters they spoke for were the MCs. However, the secondary characters became somewhat cartoon-ish and mismatched. The two didn't seem to have any communication on voice for any of the characters.
If you're looking for a fast paced shifter adventure, this is the book for you!
*I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Both characterisations were performed well and gave real emotion and feeling to the story

Any additional comments?
I absolutely loved this story. It is the second book about the River Pack Wolves and having enjoyed Jaxson I just had to listen to this one too. Well hard as I thought it would be to surpass Jaxson's and Olivia's story, this one did just that for me. Both books are complete stand alone stories so you don't have to listen to both but I would recommend that you do.

Jaxson is a tortured soul and thinks he can never take a mate, he is afraid to ever let his wolf out, no way for a shifter to live. Piper is a very strong woman/wolf who is trying to find her missing brother. Together they help each other to heal and go forward to a HEA. I loved it!

I will have to listen to Jared now.
