Hilarious and Sexy

I have this book in both paperback and now on Audible, it never fails to make me laugh at the atmosphere the two main characters have between each other. The love scenes are well played out and at the same time it always makes me chuckle.

Qirky, funny, light without too much angst

this story is typical Katie MacAllster style. with lots of quips, quirks and sex!
I enjoyed the story but don't go looking for any depths in the story (there aren't any) just a light hearted romance.

I would split the performance review down the middle giving a thumbs up for the voice of the heroine (Harry) she did a great job with the spunk of the dialog and the emotions came out well. but all the rest of the characters were flat and lifeless for me with little to differentiate them from each other.

read this if you want a break from the angst of the world around you... if you want something a little deeper try something else.

great humorous read

Narrator gives a just right voice to the characters. Enjoyed the humorous dialog between the female character and herself. Loved that there were no whinny characters. Have listened to this audio book twice and enjoyed it both times.

Good but story but missing a real bad guy

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes, I laughed out lout a few times, the only real problem was no real vilain in this one, a few conflicts but nothing major enough to get more than a passing interest. The ups and downs of Yakki and Harry are adorable, but I wanted something more out of this one. a nice story, but just that, a nice one.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I was expecting something like what we got, but that was a good ending. Actually I wanted the story to continue.

not really, but it was a relaxing story, something to listen when doing something else with your hands.

Not a great book from Katie, but a fun one. Keep them coming, I still love your humour and sence of fun.

Forever My Favorite!

I just finished listening to the for the, maybe 10th, time and it never fails to make me laugh and make me cry! I love the banter, the sarcasm, the everything of this book/story. Highly recommend!!

I don't usually read contemporary romance but the synopsis sounded interesting, so I purchased it....never regretted the choice. I loved this book. The combination of mystery, drama and love was just right.

Just what I needed!

Okay, so I would have given this 5 stars for the story, but I didn't feel the insta-love part of the story was as believable as it could be. That said, it was just what the doctor ordered after reading a few history books. (History can be so depressing, but I love it anyway.)

I liked the ages of the H/h as so many books I've read lately are for twenty-something readers. Harry kicks butt and takes names, and Iakovos loves her that way; another plus. Finally, it made me snort with laughter while listening to it at work. When a story brings out spontaneous laughter, it tends to be one that will be a repeat listen for me.

Felicity Munroe was new to me as a narrator and I thought she did a good job. Over the top when the character/narrative called for it and pleasant to listen to through the rest of the story.

The story is good, but it didn't told that certain 'je ne sais quoi'. Really I just don't know something was missing. Either way the story is really good, but personally I didn't like it you never know read it find out maybe you'll like it... <(￣︶￣)>

Worst female lead

Harry is an awful despicable caricature of of an excuse of a woman. An embarrassment to women everywhere. DNF. Just ugh.

i have read some Katie MacAlister books and they were fun. this one had zero plot, it simply jumped from one boring sex scene to the next.
