This go-round, we have a lovely, young archeologist who begs (and pays) to change places with another young woman getting on a transport to another planet in order to escape bad guys. Too flipped out about the possibility of getting caught, she doesn't allow the other woman to give her some pertinent information, so when she arrives at her destination, she is surprised to find her groom ready and waiting to get her to the Justice of the Peace for their wedding! WHAT? Well OK, she DID cheat him out of his mail-order bride, so she can help a guy out, right? Cue the baddies chasing her down and our newlyweds embarking on an Indiana Jones adventure where it's all fun and games until someone triggers the booby traps. Ven and Emmy were a sweet couple who complemented each other well. This was a totally fun, albeit not entirely original, addition to the TerraMates series.
Dual POV's were performed by Joe Hempel and Samantha Leatherwood who did an excellent job of breathing life into the characters. They are each good individually, and they made a good team as well. They made it fun and had good pacing, pronunciation and inflection which is awesome because those are the things that can take me out of a story, and it was so nice to get all the way through an entire audiobook without any distractions. Awesome job!!
