This is a stand alone series which I have read from the beginning. The plot line grabbed me...but it fell flat somehow. It might be me. Quinn is over simplified in my opinion. Brooks is one dimensional in that he is attracted to her which of course means he can't do without her and is in "love". The narration was okay, the story line could have been stronger. I detest that Quinn was portrayed to fall victim to her sexual attraction in such a way that it made her unbelievable as a savvy FBI agent.
I like MC romances to be a little more gritty, the characters to develop over time... and the females to have some modicum of self respect when it comes to sexual attraction and using their brains. I was underwhelmed with this heroines portrayal.
I think this book is worth a sale, but not a coveted credit in my humble opinion.
The most tame MC book I have listen to, had the makings of a great story, just didn't deliver, there was no burn, the heat just wasn't there, it felt like I was riding the fairest wheel instead of the roller coaster.
