Publisher's summary

Sergei Andronikov was a child when the Mafia wiped out his family, leaving him with nothing but a hunger for revenge. Years later, through ruthless strategy and tireless patience, he's a contract killer working for the three families ruling Cape Swan...and he's nearly in position to bring them all down from the inside.

Domenico "Dom" Maisano is Mafia royalty, a made man...and a hitman. He's caught up in a violent life he can't escape, struggling to maintain an image he doesn't want, and suppressing desires he can't have.

A chance encounter throws the killers into each other's paths. Though Dom knows he's playing a dangerous game, he's intrigued and keeps coming back. Sergei can't resist him either - Dom is everything he set out to destroy, but he's also everything he's ever ached for in a man.

Then Sergei gets the contract he's been waiting for - the hit that promises to bring the town's Mafia to its knees.

But when a boss makes an unexpected move, Sergei must choose between dropping the hammer on the families he vowed to annihilate, and protecting the man he swore he wouldn't love.

And the wrong choice - or even the right one - will destroy them both.

One of the best audiobooks this year!

If the seas catch fire audiobook it is has to be one of the most outstanding audiobooks and listens of this year - and that’s saying a lot because there are some amazing books out there!  This has that magical combination where you have an amazing narrator an amazing author who have managed to find just that right combination.  We also get two MCs who have  their own issues -  in this case we have a feisty Russian and "mademan " Mafia style.  There’s absolutely no way this relationship should work and yet they manage to do it.

We get loads of very hot smexy times, a ton of feelz, and some really exciting action and adventure.   Add that to the fact that Michael Ferraiuolo can  do 89 accents for the whole cast of characters - all of them with varying accents and age groups - and you're are practically sitting in the front row of the m/m version of the Godfather!

This was absolutely amazing, and I cannot recommend this enough -  if I would give it more than six stars I would!  You have to go out and get this!

What a ride!!!

This has been one of the best books I've read this year and that's saying something because I've read a whole lot. Let me just say, that I am not a fan of mafia books but this was L.A WITT!!! I had to give it a shot! I can truly say I wasn't disappointed. I definitely got my money's worth!!!

This story was so well written, well constructed and every question was answered. No stone was left unturned. It had everything from a good romance story, mystery, suspense and comedy. The main characters had so much in common and they didn't know it but it all came full circle at the end.

And the narrator, he was phenomenal! All those accents? And the voice variation with the accents? He was great. I always knew who was talking. Gosh,. I'm sad that the story ended. As long as it was, I wish had more time to listen to their story. This was one for the records.

Kudos to the writter and narrator!

If you love mm romance ,You need to get this book, you won't regret it.

well-written, intense and complicated story

This was a well-written, intense and complicated story. Sergei and Dom are complex, dangerous men who somehow find love while surrounded by and dealing out death on a regular basis. As killers immersed in such a brutal world, they are necessarily hard, but surprisingly vulnerable, capable of compassion yet frighteningly cold—in other words so very, very human. Additionally, I don’t know if it was a function of the life they lead or a shared character trait, but both men are very straightforward in how they view and deal with a relationship that shouldn’t be happening. Even when conflicted and doubting the wisdom of being together for their own reasons, there’s not a lot of vacillating, “should I-shouldn’t I” angst. They know it’s a bad idea, know they should end it and accept that they won’t until they have to, which is a refreshing change from the high angst back-and-forth inner monologues present in most conflicted characters.

The pacing and action was just right for the tone and intricacies of the steps that the players in this game were taking, and it was an engaging, dark and unexpectedly intimate story.

Best Book I’ve listened to in a LONG time!!

I love L.A. Witt!! She writes the best books (along with a few other favorites)! Every time I see her name, it’s an immediate download. I especially love hearing about the Mafia and Male/Male Romances. Awesome job!!!

Brilliant! Awesome! PERFECT!!!

This was one of the first audiobooks I ever listened, and will ve forever in my Top 5. He introduced me to Michael Ferraiuolo, my favorite narrator EVER! The way he gives voice to the story is so powerfull, that I literally cried in some parts... He has a way with words, and his storytelling is beyond anything I've ever listened. He switches from character to character - male or female - with accurate perfection, and I felt like part of the story. I highly reccomend this audiobook, not a single complaint about it. I've lost count on how many times I listened to this over the last months... It is that good!!!

As for the story: Just like all L.A. Witt's books, this one has stong characters, a great plot and some hot and steamy times. Sergei and Dom found each other in not so ortodox way, and form a bond that in dangerous, and yet, perfect for them and their lives. I really enjoyed how the author conducted their paths, trying to find something when there was absolutely letf. I really enjoyed this, a 5 star read!

Absolutely fabulous!

This story is really awesome, about two men from different countries, different worlds, yet find they are totally drawn to one another. I was hooked by the first chapter, never a dull moment, and the fact they landed in Tasmania was the icing on the cake for me!
