More research on the era. So many things are very inconsistent. I read lots of historical fiction and if I didn't catch little mentions of the time I would think this was a contemporary fiction. The speech is very much today and not for the time. For example she claimed to be Agnostic. This is a book for 1850!!! the term agnostic didn't come about until 1870!! Women wouldn't be caught in a bar unless she was a working girl. Drinking, Gambling etc.
It was boring! Nothing gripping, characters very one-dimensional. The first few chapters made me so worried that this wasn't a Christian fiction novel. I barely finished the book. I found myself falling asleep. Should have taken me 2 days tops and it took me a week to finish. I should have just quit.
Not a fan. Voice puts me to sleep. Hard to explain. Singing voice is very nice so that was a pleasant surprise.
