Publisher's summary

When there's nothing left, there's always hope.

Hope Cantwell grew up believing things could be better. Growing up with an abusive father, she tried to teach her little brother differently. After 10 years she's back, and it's worse than she could have thought. He owes the wrong people money, and their only hope is her high school sweetheart who grew up to be a rough-and-tumble biker.

Trask Rivers is the Sergeant-At-Arms for the Rising Sons MC. He and Hope haven't seen each other since she went off to school and he got a job as muscle for the club. With her brother strung out on drugs and in a deep debt to the mob, Hope only has one chance: Trask. Rough with a dark sense of humor, Trask hasn't lost his passion for Hope. Circumstance drove them apart, but it also drove them right back together, and the fire is still burning inside both of them.

If she can convince him and the Rising Sons to help her and her addict brother, she might just keep what's left of her family together.

Enjoyable!

I liked this book! The only complaint I have is it was too short. I would have loved a little more of this story. I loved the characters, story line and narration. The writing was great, I really liked Trask, he was the quiet sexy bad boy type. This book didn't have anything spectacular in it but was very enjoyable.

Just So So

This book was just so so. While it had a promising story line, drama, suspense, romance and some humor, it lacked the emotional connection to the characters. And at times, it was confusing, maybe disjointed. Though marketed as an MC romance, it didn't include much of the normal biker tropes which would be fine if it wasn't marketed that way. Written in single pov, the narrator did a good job with bringing the story to life. Overall, an OK book.

Quick cookie cutter romance

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This book fit what I needed. Something very quick and mindless. I would call the story cute except it has violent, gritty moments.

What was most disappointing about Davida Lynn’s story?

I think it could of had potential. Perhaps if it had been longer ..... and perhaps if some depth was added to the characters other than just a splash of "this is how it is" .... it could of been better. I don't know how to improve it.

Have you listened to any of Brooke Bloomingdale’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No.

Any additional comments?

Only listen if its in the $5 or less sale bin. Not credit worthy.

Worst Narration I've ever heard

This narrator's voice was excruciating hard to listen to and to make it even worse she cleared her throat during the narration. She paused and read so slow it was just painful to hear. She didn't do the book justice, she made the book a dud. So disappointing!

STORY LINE WAS GOOD, AUDIO.....AWFUL

I actually found myself drifting off a few times. Reminded me of a dull lecture at school....no emotion, no depth.
