Publisher's summary

Not everything is roses, chocolates, and vibrators in Zara's life...until Talon, Hawks MC president, wants to claim her as his.

Zara Edgingway is a 26-year-old secretary. She has a daughter who apparently knows it all and a best friend who could possibly have the mouth of Satan, but she's been with her through hell and back. Then there's the hunk-a-licious biker neighbor finally showing interest in her.

If only she wasn't about to face her next obstacle in life, the one she ran from six years ago: her ex-husband.

Talon Marcus is the president of the Hawks Motorcycle Club. For two years he's had his eye on the quiet, reclusive, yet sassy neighbor Zara. Finally, he has the chance to claim her as his woman. Just when her past catches up with her, she'll need not only his protection but help from his biker brothers.

Now, if only she'd stop fighting him along the way.

Annoying narrator

The narrator managed to make one of my favorite books into a hot mess! She has a nice enough voice but she pauses between every word... it's so annoying and you can't get an actual feel on how she's supposed to be feeling. It's all the same tone no matter the situation.

PG 13, Australian MC romance

I read reviews so I thought I’d give it a try. Yuk, Thank Gosh it is in the romance package and didn’t cost me anything but the monthly membership fee. Here is my “didn’t like” list...
1) The narration was awful, not only the female, the male voice was NOT the voice of a Large, Bad ass Biker; not even close, sounded ridiculous.
2) This had to be one of the most predictable books I have read or listened to in years.
3) There were some many eye rolling, cheesy lines that they made me groan out loud.
4) This MC had little resemblance to a normal Mc; the president didn’t even where a cut, most of the time.
The summery said this is a best selling author, for real? Maybe this was meant as a YA book or something. I don’t even think I can stomach another book, in this series, to see if this was just the bad seed in the bunch. My vote, DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!

Ballerat Hawks MC begins...

I really thought this audiobook was entertaining and the story was fast paced and moved along. The hero, Talon, is the president of all the Hawks MC. He meets the heroine, Zara, when she settles in Ballerat after fleeing a brutal husband and divorcing him. She’s been hiding, but everything eventually comes to a head when her ex arrives in town. They had a daughter her ex didn’t know about, so Talon and the club are set to protect them. Narration was well performed.

The way to get in trouble

This book was fun to read. How can one woman get into so much trouble?

Middle class MC with HEA

This is the middle class version of an MC story, with a HEA. Zara and her parents were wackier than I expected and I did get some laughs with this story. Zara has been hiding from an abusive ex, she ends up involved with the head of a motorcycle club, but it’s not written as a dark story. There is a lot of comic relief and you end with a mostly relaxing time out.
I enjoyed the dual narration by Evans and Casteri. And those Aussie accents!

Set on a faster speed

You will have to adjust your narration speed on this. Narrator pauses A lot. Also had a very hard time distinguishing characters as there are no voice changes. Story was good and entertaining for sure!

Couldn’t finish...

I couldn’t finish the book because the narrator was awful. She was so s-l-o-w. I even tried to speed up the speech and that didn’t help. I gave up.

Wish it would have been read by someone different

I think this would have been a good book but the readers were just to bad. I couldn't tell who was who as she never seemed to even try and change her voice. I had to stop listening to it and hope I can go back to it sometime.
