Publisher's summary

Horatia Sheridan has been hopelessly in love with Lucien, her brother's best friend, ever since he rescued her from the broken remains of her parents' wrecked carriage. His reputation as London's most notorious rakehell doesn't frighten her, for under his veneer of cool authority she has glimpsed a man whose wicked desires inspire her own.

Lucien, Marquess of Rochester, has deliberately nurtured a reputation for debauchery that makes every matchmaking mother of the ton quake with fear. However, the loyalty he owes Horatia's brother is put to the test when an old enemy of the League threatens Horatia's life.

With Christmas drawing near, he sweeps her away to his country estate, where he can't resist granting her one wish - to share his bed and his heart.

Contains mature themes.

I love this series.

With some stories there’s long stretches where it becomes boring. Never with this series! Five stars all the way around, although I’m incredibly sad Lauren blinded Cedric. How awful, even though in his story I know he’ll have a HEA unless he regains his vision I won’t be happy.

Lucien and Horatia

I don't think I've laughed so hard listening to a story. The Society of Rebellious Ladies, Audrey trying to accost Charles, the snowball fight... This book had me in tears from laughing. I really enjoyed this story - much more than the first. I only gave it 4 stars for the narrator's voice. You get used to it but it gets annoying sometimes, too.

Much better than the 1st in the series.

I really wanted to give this author a second chance after book one and I'm glad I did. The characters are well suited and without abusive tendancy's. I still hate the first hero and am glad I barely heard of him in this book. I don't know what the author was trying to do with a character like Godrick, but Lucien did not disappoint. He proved to me he wasn't a selfish careless or abusive male and really did want to make his love happy. He deserves a good match in the heroine he finally gives in to. I will read on to see if the other characters redeem themselves after helping "hero" #1 Godrick ruin a girl and humiliate her over and over for the fun and control of it. He never redeems himself of any of it and his friends went along with it with barely a word against his actions. He says he feels bad later, but still did nothing to deserve his heroine. I have tried to put that aside and give the other members a chance to see if they warrant a chance and so far Lucien is nothing like Godrick. The others seem different as well. Maybe their actions was a wake up call of sorts, but never accentuated as such. This will hopefully show me more improvement as the rest of these men prove if they are even worth the trouble.

Lustful and kindness

Lucien, Marquess of Rochester always felt lust and kindness to Miss Horatia Sheridan. But The League Rule #2 and his friendship with Cedric prevents him from acting on his desires. He has to give her the cold shoulder so she will not look at him with love. Horatia Sheridan has and will always be in love with Lucien ever since he saved her from the carriage wreck which killed her parents. Her hearts breaks every minutes she spent with Lucien. I love Horatia. She is a very graceful, passive and intelligent which draws Lucien. Now The League is being threaten and they are always in each other's homes. Lucien could no longer deny his attraction for Horatia. He has to be close to her and protect her. It was amusing how crazy The League can be. I really adore Emily and her Society of Rebellious Ladies. I also love the narration of the narrator. She bring the story alive.

Not my sister!

The League of Rogues is a friendship of 5 aristocrats who became solid friends one fateful night while they attended university. That night they also met and made a vengeful enemy. Each book in the series alludes to the story. We get bits and pieces. Yet, Mr. Waverly is the major antagonist along each storyline. Although this series is considered Regency romance - which it is - there is danger and intrigue through out.

This tale focuses on Lucian, the Marquess of Rochester and Horotia Sheridan, sister of Cedric, Viscount Sheridan. Although Cedric and Lucien are best friends (each a member of the League), Cedric refuses to consider Lucien would be good for his Lady sister.

This series is well written with romance and intrigue on most every page. It is well worth a credit, but I was ever so pleased to get it on sale. Yahoo!

Really Good

I read the first book in this series a while back and had to refresh myself with it and bring me up to this second book. Ms. Smith has done a really good job however, she needs to bring these books our faster. In this series alone there is at least, 4 more books to come to match up all the League's Rogues with romance and adventure. Cedric I predict will be next then Ashton and so on..............both already have female that we have read about that is boiling their blood. Ms. Smith bring it on, I am ready with a bottle of wine!

Action, Sex, Danger, Sadness, Joy, You Get It All

Would you consider the audio edition of His Wicked Seduction to be better than the print version?

Did not read the print version.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the attitude and relationship of Lucien's mothers when she met with her younger sons about aiding Lucien and Horatia's situation. Also Audrey is a pistol. She will get what she wants even if she has to manufacture it.

What about Heather Wilds’s performance did you like?

She's enjoyable.

Any additional comments?

I must say, I loved the first book "Wicked Designs." This one fell a little short. However the League of Rogues is a series to be read/listened to and enjoy. The different personalities are wonderful and humorous and you can see the love and support among the Rogues. They have each other's back and that is wonderful. However, to me this second installment fell a little short. I must admit the book did slow down and die for a minute, but it ended strong. These stories allow you to see the inner person of the main characters. The love Horatia, Audrey and Cedric had for their dead parents, how that affected their lives and also how Lucien came to the rescue. Once you are allowed to see what makes them who they are, including Lucian, then they truly come alive to you.
I didn't like how the criminal got away and I do hate what happened to Cedric. I can't wait for the next installment.
