Aiden is an Alaskan fisherman, who is going through a nasty divorce from his gold-digging wife. Alice is a cellist, auditioning for a chair with Seattle Symphony. While on an Alaskan cruise with her overbearing family, Alice runs off for a day alone on a fishing charter. Except that she misses the charter then topples off the pier when a dog comes bounding towards her. Aiden rescues Alice from the freezing water after his dog scares her and she falls in. He takes her back to his boat to get her warmed up. Alice uses this opportunity to rebel against her rigid parents and spends the day being ‘warmed’ by Aiden. The pair feel a connection and promise to keep in touch. Alice needs a date to her sister’s wedding in spite of the entire family trying to pair her iff w a sleazebag. Of course she invites Aiden. Alice’s family and the sleaze bag do not approve of Aiden...because he’s a fisherman and can’t afford to give Alice ‘the life that she’s accustomed to’. Little do they know that he’s a millionaire fisherman. Will Alice allow her family to influence her feelings for Aiden? Will Aiden’s pending divorce have any bearing on A&A happiness? Maybe :)
Quick sweet story with some ex & other boyfriend drama but we finally get an HEA!
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
Aiden, 30, is an Alaskan fisherman who has family wealthy, though you would never know it. Outward appearance of a gruff bearded stoic, he is sweet, thoughtful and loving when it comes to his dog and his family. Snagged into a marriage by a woman who fooled him into believing she was something she wasn’t, and trying for 2 yrs to be rid of her, he is cynical about love until a dive into frigid water.
Alice is 21 and a talented musician. Her parents are trying to control all aspects of her life, forcing her to practice endlessly and taking the joy of playing from her. Coming from a rich family they hold her ‘hostage’ believing hey are helping her achieve her dreams...then she falls into frigid water and Aiden saves her.
A connection, lots and lots of hot sex and dirty talk, these two, living in different worlds connection,
I liked the way this couple worked together..some angst but not over the top, just enough to keep it interesting...neither one acted stupid like so many characters in books do which is irritating.
The narrator did a great job delivering the tone and emotion particularly for Aiden..strong stoic and emotional when needed. Alice was breathy and innocent sounding, just as I imagined.
If you like Frankie Love..get this story...if you’ve never given her a try..try now...great audio to start 😉
