Macrath Mor and Ceana MacRae fought valiantly to win their temporary titles as prince and princess of Sìtheil during the bloody war games. A burgeoning love and countless hopes and dreams for the future of Scotland fill the daytime hours, and passion holds them at twilight. Just married and given only five years to rule before the next set of savage games begins, Macrath and Ceana have vowed to take down the royal council in charge of the war games, but before they can move ahead, they first have to conquer their enemies - and their own personal demons.

With the ghosts of their pasts chasing them and their adversaries stopping at nothing to see them destroyed, ruling Sìtheil will prove to be a challenge not only for their reign but also for their love.

Poor ending

Story ended without a good ending and abruptly. Did not like this one!

A different, medieval romance book

Just love the series book one, and two were great very interesting very different than many of the other medieval romance books. Kept me on my toes wanting to know what’s going to happen next. Looking forward to book 3.

WTF?

Ceana is basically nonfunctional. I guess she is suffering from PTSD? She suffers from increased dependency on her partner, and Macrath is a caregiver not a spouse. While there are ups and downs in all marriages, it seems sad that they are starting out this way.

Better

This one was better not as gory
I skipped over most of the sex scenes but when I couldn’t get to the Alexa what seems there were Better put together than some of the other scenes in the story
I kept waiting for her to be concerned about her clansman if she sent food or coin or whatever to them but she only had one mention of them that was her whole purpose of coming to the game’s however there was only one mention if I remember right could’ve missed it and she was mostly worried about how they would view her until the end when the clan started well that would be given up what happened right
I gave it a three because I believe that there is a different and good idea in mind for the stories as I said before I am no rider and I was expecting something wonderful because this was a different idea than the normal every day well you know what I mean and that’s why I gave it three stars the idea was very good However with such a good imagination I think it could’ve been better plus I hate giving anybody a two or a lower

Better

Well I completed Book 2. Once again it is a well written book but too harsh for me. I wanted to see what would happen to Ceana and Macrath. If you are looking for a feel good book, this series so far is not it. The cruelity goes too far for me. One thing though, the love between Ceana and Macrath develops well.
