Money has been disappearing from the city coffers, and a trail leads from Bluegill's mayor to Damien Cerberus, a rich boat owner - and possible killer. The police chief is shortstaffed and in need of someone to keep tabs on the suspect. Jazz's job at the marina puts her in the perfect position to help - and puts her in the path of Kurt Reynolds, the hottie who mans the fireboat.
When things with Kurt start heating up, how can Jazz keep her investigation undercover while enjoying time under the covers with her summer flame?

Sweet and funny!
I love books about firemen, small towns and regular people. Jazz is a kindergarten teacher in a Catholic school, who has moved in with her drag queen cousin, Harry after her divorce. From the very start, this poor girl has gotten herself into the craziest of circumstances, and for someone who really doesn't want any attraction to her, everything she does seems to get her some attention. Kurt, the hot fireman seems to always be there to rescue her. Even though she has been in town only a short time, her uncanny ability to solve problems has gotten her the job to help figure out the town's corruption. But as she delves deeper, what she finds may just find her in trouble that Kurt won't be able to save her from! Denman has laced this book with romance, laughter and some suspense to keep you guessing. This is a fun, light listen sure to make your day.
This is my first Alyssa Cicarello narration, and I was impressed. Her comedic timing and voicing of the characters is spot-on. Her ability to voice characters from old women to arrogant men is fantastic and created an easy listen.
