What the Critics Say

"Roberts is triumphant in realizing fully developed characters, as both Trevor and Darcy turn out to be vulnerable human beings with appealingly ordinary hopes and dreams." (Publishers Weekly)

Heart of the Sea

Would you consider the audio edition of Heart of the Sea to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version but I would assume so.. listening to a story about the Irish with someone reading it with the Irish accent adds to the story.

Any additional comments?

I was sad when the series was over, I loved listening to Irish having Irish background my self. Feeling like old friends who are now gone .

Her voices drones on and on and on...

I love this trilogy, and I can't tell you how many times I've read the books. I downloaded the audiobook for a good listen while working. Something to occupy the mind. The narrators voice has almost no inflection. She seems to drone on and on and on with no ending in site. Scenes that should be passionate and full of feeling sound cold and brittle. There were several times when I had trouble keeping track of which character was "speaking". It's like she's just reading off the page with zero interest in the story.
