Publisher's summary

Jay "Flash" Reynolds has a brilliant future as a trauma surgeon until a truck on a rainy night changes her life. Assistant chief medical examiner Olivia Price is more at ease with the dead than the living - at least the dead never lie. All she needs to do is listen to their stories. What she doesn't need is a surly new resident who would rather be somewhere else.

Two women, one with a damaged body, the other a damaged spirit, challenge each other to dare to live again.

A First Responders romance.

The narration made it difficult to finish.

The storyline was very good. Really great to have all of the previous characters from other storylines. The voices were difficult to listen to, robotic, unemotional. The previous narrators were so good. Really brought characters to life. Missed those voices!

Narrator Sucks

Good story but the narrator is terrible!
She should stick to narrating children's books! Thumbs down.

very disappointed

I am an avid Radclyffe fan! I have read or listen to everything she has written. I'm not sure if this book was good or not. The narration was horrible. I wish Audible would have used the same narrator as before in this series. I had to force myself to finish it.

what a great sequel

This book is a great start to a sequel for the Justice series . It was really enjoyable to follow each of the characters from Trama Alert and the Justice series. It seems like there will be more to come with all of them.
This book did not have the intense heat as the others first Responders or Justice books had. I found it hard to connect with the new Medical Examiners. The reason. and i do suggest that instead of listening to this book you read it.
The narrator did not have any passion or personally. The love scenes were very dry and was lacking emotion. Like the way she read the whole book.. more robotic less human.
Radcyffe has a great story here and deserves the best, that includes who reads her works.
I did like this book alot. i just suggest you try tge kindle version. Put your own emotions into it... you'll be asking for more.

Not Radcliffe's best but plain good. Poor narration.

A plain good story, with a good rhythm overall and an enjoyable reacquaintance with characters from previous books. It feels as if the author were winking at the reader.
Poor narration, though. In the romantic scenes, including the steamy ones, McKinney does not sound but like a general commanding her troops. It sort of feels awkward.
Look forward for more Radcliffe books. I love the 1st responders series.

least favorite of her books

Love her books, but this is by far my least favorite. too many characters. too many sub-plots. too many lesbians. contains sex scene with male anatomy. crime element of story is sadly wrapped up without any type of real conclusion.

narrator

the narrator voice did not fit the characters from the other books. this make it hard to complete the book in a timely manner like I would normally.

feedback : use previous narrators, they are amazing...

Horrible narrator

The main character sounded stoned. And the same tone and inflection was used when the characters were walking down the street as when they were in a passionate seen. Great story but horrible narrator

Rather tedious at times

For a first responder book I expected the characters and action of the book to be more dynamic. There were times when the chosen verbiage didn't match what the actions should be. In addition the performance or the individual reading the book didn't match what was going on. Olivia's voice was overly perky and Jae's voice was very slow making her sound like her accident had resulted in some mental slowness, not just the expected physical impairment. This played havoc with the articulate nature which anyone must have when becoming a physician. It didn't convey the necessary emotions and meanings.

A bit different

I liked how the characters from the first responder series and the justice series meshed together in this book. I also like how they told the story of a different department within the hospital without making it morbid. However, I didn't feel like the main characters were able to get their full story told because it kept switching between the justice series and the part I'm guessing goes with the first responders series.

I've listened to the narrator from a couple other books and had a chance to get use to her style so that didn't bother me so much. Although she isn't Betsy Z. or Abby Craden, etc. I think she did a good job.

I like Radclyffe books so I gave the overall rating a 5 even though this book isn't one of my faves.
