Publisher's summary

Miserable and depressed after yet another failed relationship, Dixie has been roped into playing chauffeur on her grandmother and great aunt's annual pilgrimage to Graceland. The only thing worse than being depressed and alone with a pint of ice cream is being depressed and accompanied by a couple of batty septuagenarians with Elvis obsessions.

It's all well and good until the ancient Cadillac breaks down in the middle of nowhere. The only shelter available is at the decrepit, mafia-run Viva Tupelo Hotel and Casino. As they are checking in to the hotel that has seen far better days, Dixie sees the last person she expects: her ex. The man who dumped her without a backward glance.

Nick never wanted to be an undercover agent. He was pretty happy with his IT position in a local field office and the curvy brunette who made his head spin. But by virtue of having the right look and the ability to sing, he was suddenly an Elvis impersonator spying on a mob boss. And the curvy brunette who made his head spin just walked into the middle of his first and only sting operation. He's not sure who's going to kill him first - the mob boss he's burning or the woman who could blow his cover!

I really enjoyed this book

If you could sum up Good Luck Charm in three words, what would they be?

Funny, Hot and Crazy

Who was your favorite character and why?

Frankie. She was in essence a side character but she brought a lot to the story. I would love a book just about her.

What does Suzanne Barbetta bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really liked how she gave each character their own voice. Even though it was a short read I really was engaged in the story from her narration.

Any additional comments?

I really liked this book. It was short but still very good and very funny. I liked all the characters especially Frankie. She needs her own book. I liked the romance between Dixie and Nick or Elvis and Cilla. I could see this being a movie.I really enjoyed the narration. I have never listened to a book by Suzanne Barbetta but she did a really good job with all the characters and I loved the southern accents.

Sweet Dixie & Elvis

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Most definitely short easy to listen and funny, who wouldn't like a break in their day with a good audiobook. Unlike most short stories this ended in a way that felt complete, don`t get me wrong I would love a full length novel with these characters.

What did you like best about this story?

Well as an Elvis fan that was my #1 but Frankie was unforgettable, she had me in fits of laughter.

Which character – as performed by Suzanne Barbetta – was your favorite?

Seriously all of them, she had me from the first chapter. Her Dixie was fantastic, Frankie brilliant but she was wonderful with all the male characters. I think she has another stalker to deal with, sorry Suzanne.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My only extreme reaction was laughing a little to loud while doing my grocery shopping and everyone stopped to look at me.

Laugh Out Loud Fun!

This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast.

This book had me giggling from beginning to end. Dixie is chaperoning her grandmother, Irma, and her great-aunt, Frances (Frankie), on their annual trip to pay homage to ‘The King’ at Graceland. Dixie has just recently been dumped by Nick and would much rather be home drowning her sorrows in ice cream but, since neither of the lovely little old ladies are up to driving, Dixie agrees to drive them in her grandmother’s vintage Cadillac. Out in the middle of nowhere, the car breaks down and the three women are driven to a broken down hotel/casino by the tow truck driver, while the Cadillac is being fixed.

Entering the lobby Dixie comes face-to-face with good ol’ Nick, in full Elvis regalia, and the story takes off on a hilarious journey into Mafioso territory never before seen or experienced by anyone, ever. I don’t want to spoil any of the story so, all I will say is things are not at all what they seem.

These characters will grab hold of your heart and make you want to call them your friends and family. The banter between them is priceless and will keep you laughing long after you’ve finished the book. Narrator, Suzanne Barbetta, does an absolutely incredible job of bringing all of the characters to life, each with their own unique characteristics masterfully portrayed by Barbetta.

This is a short read, but so much fun I will be listening to it again and again, and I will definitely be searching out more works by Seraphina Donavan.

Good Luch Charm

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Overall yes, it was a nice audiobook to pass the time with.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

More character development.

Because this is a short read, it didn't have enough depth that would have made me more invested in the story.

This book will make you smile!

This is a short, fun read. I am an huge Elvis fan, so was taken immediately with the premise of Dixie going to Graceland with her Grandmother and great aunt. There she ran into her boyfriend, Nick...or is it her boyfriend? He disappeared not calling her for two weeks and Dixie was hurt and angry! Little did she know the adventure these two old women and Nick would be taking her on. You will laugh out loud at the antics of these industrious, inventive women and see them save the day for Nick! I loved Frankie and Grandma, the way they interact and just work the mob men into putty.

I definitely recommend this, you will be smiling all the way through(and it's not just the humor...some of the scenes are hot!)

Suzanne Barbetta has the perfect voice for this. A little twang for Dixie and the women...a great mob/goon voice for the bad guys. She will keep you listening!
