Publisher's summary

Derrick and Trevor used to have an incredibly passionate relationship, full of spontaneity and sizzle. Now that their son is off to college, they want to put their days of routine, vanilla sex behind them and bring back some of that spark.

Realizing that they're emptynesters, Trevor begins to notice their age difference. He suddenly feels old and unsure of himself, and isn't confident Derrick still desires him. When Trevor decides to keep his health issues and gray hairs down there to himself, Derrick is hurt by his partner's secretive behavior and thinks Trevor must be having an affair. Nothing could be further from the truth, but Trevor doesn't know how to communicate his fears to his partner. He desperately wants to reconnect with Derrick and rev up their sex life, but will it be enough to reclaim their marital bliss?

Sweet and sexy

I really enjoyed this. Miscommunication stories can be so painful to read. This one was just right. The pain only lasted as long as I could stand it and the resolution was very satisfying. Great pacing!

Get Over Yourselves

I usually love KC Burn's story. I'm not sure why I couldn't get into this one. But there were times I felt like yelling at the playback or just stop already and talk to each other. These are two men that have been together for a while, they have already weathered some tough changes, and yet now all of a sudden they seem so insecure not only in themselves but in their relationship. I'm glad they finally started talking but them seem to waste so much time getting there.

short cute little angsty story

Any additional comments?

A bit short for my liking, but otherwise a cute little story mostly focused on sex and insecurities about growing older.

First time...

This book was cute. It had a good story line, kept you wanting to know/hear the rest. And The narrator did a good job. Glad I took the time to listen to this one.

Delightful Short Story

This is a great little short story about the fears and insecurity of an established couple when they become "empty nesters." It is really sweet and I enjoyed listening to it. The narrator did a excellent job, but Charlie Belmont always does; he is one of my favorites. I wouldn't use a credit for it, but if it is on sale, worth it.

First Time, Forever by K C Burn

First Time, Forever by K. C. Burn

Contemporary M-M romance with erotic elements.
Derrick and Trevor are new empty nesters with their son off to college. Can they rekindle the romance or is it too late?

I hate when a simple talk will solve all the problems and angst. “Talk to each other” I yelled over and over to the characters in this short novella.
Fortunately they do figure it out. It’s a romance.
Cute and sexy. But 40 isn’t old in my book!

A bit angsty but so hot by the end.

I love a good novella length story and audiobooks of less than 3 hours are perfect for listening to in one evening so this was right up my alley. It's the first audiobook I've listened to performed by Charlie Belmont and I really enjoyed his performance of this little gem.

I wanted to smack Derrick and Trevor's heads together a couple of times because they were being so stupid. But then I remembered how many times I've failed to communicate properly with someone, and how things got messed up between us. So the moral of this story is don't take people for granted (especially your significant other) and talk things out – sometimes easier said than done.

By the end of the story things got so HOT (in a good way) that it was worth the anguish the two went through to finally get their relationship back on track. This really was a great little book!

Very enjoyable

I was hesitant at first as it’s about relationships and openness. However I came to enjoy it fairly quickly. Sometimes we all assume the worst or our insecurities gets the better of us. Just being open and honest and straightforward and trusting of the other can make things less scary. I like how both of their own insecurities, similar to one another’s, were what kept them from talking outright. It all really comes down to how receptive each individual is when all is said and done. I like this story.

Ok short story with good narration

One of those plots driven by lack of communication and false assumptions, which can get exasperating, but thankfully this was such a short story, so resolved without too much drama. Though the story felt very contrived, the characters were pretty well developed and their relationship and deep love for each other was sweet.

Narration was good and added to my enjoyment of the story.

Short and Sweet

I love how this story is short and romantic. Even though it's less than three hours long, nothing is lost in the plot. Charlie Belmont did a great job narrating this book. I would highly recommend it.
