Publisher's Summary

Being robbed at gunpoint wasn't part of Sarah Tucker's business plan. Neither was falling in love with the detective who arrived to solve the case.
All Sarah wants is success for her gift boutique, the one she and her husband created. Now, she's living a hand-to-mouth existence. Her husband died a year earlier in a car accident-an accident that was ruled suicide, denying her his life insurance money. Burdened by guilt that she was somehow to blame for his death, Sarah faces one business setback after another.
Determined to succeed on her own, she fights off a meddling sister-in-law as well as offers of financial assistance from a former boyfriend. Unaware someone is setting her up for failure, she's totally unprepared to find herself fighting for survival.
Police Detective Randy Detweiler thinks the crook is a thief who's been evading cops all over the state. A routine robbery investigation turns into the biggest challenge of his career when he falls in love with the victim, and he starts crossing professional boundaries. When Sarah disappears, he's afraid all his detective skills might not be enough to find her in time to save her life.

Good, Solid Romantic Suspense

Where does Finding Sarah rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable this story was.

What did you like best about this story?

I think the author did a credible job with the timeline of the story. She gave the main character time to heal before entering a brand new relationship. So often authors rush the ending to facilitate a happily ever after. Instead, Ms. Odell took her time to handle it in a realistic manner.

What does Kelley Hazen and Storyteller Productions bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator can make or break an audible story. Kelley Hazen did a terrific job! I would gladly listen to her narrate another story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reactions, although there were some tense moments that made me very nervous.

Any additional comments?

I received a copy of this audio book in exchange for a fair and honest review of the story. I wasn't quite sure what to expect since I had never read any of Ms. Odell's books before. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that it was exactly the type of story that I like to read or listen to. I can highly recommend this to anyone looking for romantic suspense. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I have several highly compelling authors that have earned that rating. Ms. Odell is well on her way, but hasn't reached the pinnacle yet.

Compelling Story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This novel captures a nice combination of suspense and romance - just enough to satisfy readers of either genre.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Finding Sarah?

That moment where Randy and Sarah are at the play watching The Mousetrap, and she instantly recognizes the voice of one particular actress. That set up a fascinating twist on the building mystery story and was brilliantly executed.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Sarah instructs Randy to drive to the graveyard so they can each confront the ghosts (of Sarah's dead husband and of Randy's dead grandmother)

Any additional comments?

This was a great story featuring intriguing characters and a curious mystery that kept me listening right until the end. The relationship between Randy and Sarah was compelling and satisfying and the novel contained a nice blend of mystery with a charming touch of romance. Odell has done a very nice job of setting up a fascinating universe of characters in Pine Hill, Oregon. That certainly makes me eager to read the next book in this series.
