Publisher's summary

Under magical house arrest in her great-grandmother's suburban cottage, college graduate and reluctant earth mage Shelley Dupree whiles away most mornings spying on the warlock next door. Though erotic daydreams offer some distraction, she faces long working hours, cash flow problems, and a repeat burglar. On Valentine's Day, she sets a trap for the mysterious intruder, intent on ending his crime streak once and for all. But her scheming cat familiar foils her best-laid plans, and, with a little help from Madame Eve's 1-Night Stand service, she discovers a far more dangerous species of magical feline.

After moving in next to a ramshackle building on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., pastry chef Adrien Chatdurois is plagued by repeat sexual fantasies starring the same curvy brunette. In a state of constant arousal, he devotes his early mornings to grueling exercise and spends the rest of his day handcrafting the city's best chocolates. When his younger brother stirs up trouble on the shop's busiest day, the frustrated shifter is forced to pay a surprise visit on his reclusive neighbor. He soon learns not all witches are wart-covered hags, and one in particular might prove the most delicious of desserts.

SHELLY AND ADRIAN ARE ADORABLE TOGETHER!!!!

Any additional comments?

** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **

This was a really cute story, Shelly is a witch under magical house arrest, and has noticed her neighbor..Adrian is cocky and a neat freak chef shapeshifter...together they are hilarious and fun, and have a great valentines day together!

Super fun story, and good narration....I really enjoyed this, and recommend it!!!

Feline Valentine

This was a short little story. It started out a little slow with a lot of information that made it a little confusing at first. It felt like it should have been longer to fully explore all the complexities described. But, then the story picked up. The banter between characters was lively and even humorous, and the characters were interesting. Mandi Jo John did a great job.

Be My Valentine

Witch Shelley Dupree has salacious dreams about her shifter neighbor and pastry chef extraordinaire Adrien Chatdurios. But, is it just a dream if the sexy neighbor is having the same dream?

Tara Quan writes a humorous, light listen. No, it doesn’t have the depth of an opus or fleshed out characters, but it’s not meant to. It’s just a story to while away a little time and put a smile on your face and it does that.

The audiobook is narrated by Mandi Jo John and it’s my first listen to her as a narrator, her delivery was just as light and humorous as the book. At just under two hours, Feline Valentine is a short enjoyable listen.

Quite Interesting

I wasn't sure what to expect when it came to this novella with the word "feline" in the title.

Well, it's just as it would seem, this story features cats. Interestingly enough, magically witches and warlocks that have the ability to transform into said cats.

I'm not quite sure the whole gist of the story though...it all seems a bit random. Initially I was confused. Perhaps I'd have been less confused if I'd been introduced to this series in book 1 rather than 4. Towards the end though, I thought the banter between Shelly and Adrian was quite cute.

As for the narration, it all seemed to be rushed. I felt like Mandi needed to pause to breathe. The distinctions between the characters wasn't quite as easy to discern either.

Short, funny, sexy paranormal romp

Would you listen to Feline Valentine again? Why?

Yes, the narration was spot-on, and it was a great way to spend a couple of hours. I laughed many times at the interaction between both the main characters and the side characters. The narrator has a pleasant, slightly husky voice, and she did a good job with different voices for various characters.

What did you like best about this story?

The humor, and depth of the characters. I liked that the heroine was feisty and independent, but not TOO bullheaded.

Which scene was your favorite?

The very end, which I don't want to spoil, but it involved a lot of moving furniture and an IKEA catalog.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I wouldn't say it was exactly moving, but there were definitely hilarious scenes.

Any additional comments?

For a two-hour book, I felt that the setup took a little too long with backstory and talking about other characters that we don't even meet, though maybe that will have more meaning to those who have read other books in this series. It took until an hour and a half in until they really touched each other - in fact, though she was basically spying on him from the get-go, it took quite a while before they even MET, and I felt that it moved abruptly from their sexy time together to suddenly sitting and eating in the kitchen (though what followed was AWESOME). That being said, I felt it was quite enjoyable overall, and I will be seeking out other books from this author.

Feline Valentine

Any additional comments?

This was a fun listen! The series was new to me so it took me a while to get into the story and understand the characters. But after getting a better grasp on the story it turned out to be really fun and I was not ready for it to end. I look forward to more from this series.

Hot, Steamy & fun!

This fourth short story in the A Witch's Night Out series, is an entertaining and steamy paranormal romance. It started out a bit slow for me but it quickly picked up it's pace and I was hooked and totally engaged. It was funny and snarky and very hot and sexy, which I love in the books I listen to. The narrator, Mandi Jo John did a wonderful job setting each scene and pulling me into the story. If you enjoy funny, sexy paranormal romance you will definitely like this book!
