Publisher's summary

Allegra Simpson is the vice president of Simpson Fashion. She's always handled life like her mother taught her - with manners and a smile. But Allegra learns being nice can get you in trouble as someone haunts her from the shadows and turns her life to one of secrets. She fears she'll never be able to have a relationship with Finn because it would put everyone she loves in danger.

Finn Williams had a promising professional baseball career until an injury disrupted everything. But Finn wouldn't let that stop him. He went to law school and started his own sports agency with the support of the Simpson family. The only thing missing was Allegra's love. The chemistry between the two had been undeniable. But Finn knew there was something that Allegra is holding back from him. He just has to get her to trust him enough to tell him.

The man in the shadows is watching. He's always watching. He knows Allegra's every move. He's been in her house and laid in her bed and has plans to make her love him. She rejected him, but they are destined for each other. He's seen her with Finn and knows this new man is no match for him. Soon she'll come to see they are meant to be. Because if he can't have her then no one can.

strong smart woman...what a nice surprise!

Would you listen to Fashioned for Power again? Why?

The narration is great. Funny and intense. you have to listen to the entire series from start to finish. All four woman have their issues, but they work through them and we all should have an Aunt Shirley and such a great mom! It is a must listen!

What other book might you compare Fashioned for Power to and why?

The entire series. A must listen!

What about Amy McFadden’s performance did you like?

I love Amy. I will even choose a book if she is the performer. Amy and Karen White are my two favorite women narrators!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could not listen in one sitting due to my schedule. But if I could I would have. I brought my I pad in my car so I did not miss much!

Any additional comments?

looking forward to the authors next series. This was a recommended by you at Audible. Thanks! I love when you do that!

This series gets better with each book!

I loved this book. It was so good. Loved how Allegra got stronger and even more confident. She was a great character. Funny, smart and beautiful. I loved Finn too. He was great. Also strong, smart and handsome. The chemistry between them was great and believable, there was a couple of hot and steamy sex scenes too. So this is not a rated G book but its also not erotica at all. Just nicely written sex scenes.

The story line and plot was great. I really enjoyed the stalker mystery, I never guessed who it was! Which is a bonus for me to be surprised!.

I really love this the writing style of this author.in this series. It's not insta attraction and jumping in to bed. The characters get to know each other and are very likeable.
I enjoyed all the secondary characters that show up from the previous books.

Just a really enjoyable story from beginning to end. There is also lots and lots of dialogue throughout the entire book, Great dialogue too.

As for the narration, it was great., I am becoming a bigger fan of Amy McFadden the more I listen to her. The men sound like men and everyone gets their own distinct voice. She also has a very nice reading voice and reads with emotion as called for. LIke whispering and yelling etc.

I am looking forward to reading/listening via whispersync to the next book in the series, Destined for Power. It's Mallory's book. YAY!

Another Great Story

Love the Power books! Fashioned for power did not disappoint! Shirley is my FAVORITE character. The love story was great and the suspense killed me! I thought it was Jasper but I was surprised. Can't wait to read the next one.
Finally, Amy McFadden is the best story teller ever!!!!!

Gets Better With Every Book

OMGOSH!!! I've listened to all 3 books in 3 days. I don't want to stop listening!! I'm not a girly girl but we all like to dress up so hearing this from the other side was interesting. The character development is amazing and the story line is original. Each sister has their unique traits to bring to the table and they have done it! Can't wait for Book 4!!

Loved it..

Any additional comments?

I was worried for no reason. I thought for sure this was going to be full of secrets and angst but it wasn’t. The same wonderful family, always ready to jump in and help each other. I don’t believe I’ve ever read a series of books where every family member was as nice and strong as this group.

Allegra came a long way since the first book. Always so nice and calm, to where she fought the bad guy like a tiger. It was Mallery who took him out but Allegra did some serious damage to him before Mallery, Finn and Terrell came in to save her and Shirley.

The usually crew were here: Margaret, Elle, Drake, Bree and Logan, etc. And I do enjoy them all.

The bad guy was sure a whack-job, and left behind a whole slew of victims. He really did get what he deserved.

As usual, Ms. Brooks doesn’t write any kind of sexual tension, no desire, no thoughts, no wanting, no sexual frustration, no nothing, but she does write a good bedroom scene.

As to the narrator: I happen to adore Amy McFadden. She keeps me thoroughly entertained while she reads. The women all have different voices and the men sound alike but as long as they sound like men I really don't care. I don't know of one female narrator who can make all the men sound different, any more than a male narrator can do women's voices that well. It's the narrators who sound like women when a man's talking that I can't stand.

My least favorite of the stories in this series. I got the point of how being nice all the time can make a person appear weak early in the story. I didn't have to have it repeated so often. I felt that in trying to appear strong she made some really stupid decisions and assumptions. I got frustrated with her.

Weakest Heroine Award goes to!

Alegra was pathetic. Finn deserved better. Shirley & her antics were the only good thing about this story. Almost didn,'t finish!

Diminishing returns

Each of these sisters has less common sense than the one who came before her. It's amazing that the two younger sisters made it to adulthood. This book drove me nuts because Allegra seemed too dim to have accomplished what she had professionally. And I liked Finn a lot and wanted better for him. I couldn't get through this whole book. I like this author's political romantic suspense books much better than this series, which I'm giving up on.
