Torn on How to Rate This Audiobook

“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”

A woman who doesn't want a permanent relationship as she is battling health issues. Two men, friends, who are both interested in this woman.

One man has known her longer and can't seem to make up his mind to what depth he wants their relationship. She just wants some friends with benefits, and very little benefits. His friend, hooks up behind the first man's back with her and feels all kinds of guilt but becomes move and move involved.

The use of drugs is prevalent in the girls and second man's relationship but it becomes apparent for her it is primarily for medical reasons.

The portion of the story I have issues with is the immaturity of all involved...it made it hard for me to like the characters...but I liked the 'couple' a little more towards the ending, a cliffhanger where I actually had sympathy for two of the characters.

The narrators did an excellent job..I happily listen to them again.

I'm not sure I can say who would like this story...it could be worth a shot, but 50-50 whether you like it or not..then of course it's a cliffhanger

I was generously provided this audiobook at no charge by the author in exchange for an unbiased review.

It's a difficult task to create a complex world in under 5 hours but G. L. Thomas accomplished just that. Not only does she script a believable love triangle, she adds the fight against cancer, cultural and multicultural elements, social class, and the vulnerability of friendships.

Teddy comes from a cold but well-to-do family. She's fighting cancer and manages her pain with weed. On her good days, she only wants to feel alive and safe. Reggie has occasionally filled that need but is a player, not wanting a relationship. Through him she meets tattooed & pierced Asher and their attraction is instant. Asher and Teddy become closer, keeping their relationship secret in order to keep friendships intact. Reggie senses her distance and reconsiders the strength of his attraction, deciding he was wrong and wants to pursue a relationship. There begins the deceit, the pain, and the losses as they navigate friendships and love.

My one and only complaint is the cliffhanger. I have listened to all three books so far and wish this would have been one long, delicious HEA book. Nonetheless, I love it.
