Publisher's summary

Ariston Dago is a sentry - a protector for his people. He watches the waters of his territory, keeping his god and his race safe both above and below the murky depths around Venice, Italy. When he's compelled to save a human that falls from a transport, his life is forever changed, because the human he saves, Teagan Moss, is his mate - the first human to ever mate a Dagonite.

Teagan Moss is the kind of woman to shoot first and then question the body later. When she wakes with a Hydro bomb strapped to her body, she knows someone is going to pay for trying to kill her - and that she is going to need the help of the sexy, exotic Dagonite to find out who exactly needs that bullet in their brain. What she doesn't count on is the scorching attraction she feels for the male who is so certain she is his.

Thrust into solving the mystery surrounding the attempt on his mate's life, Ari and Teagan uncover more than the answers they are looking for. And the truths they unearth could send the world into another war.

UNEXCITING NARRATOR ALMOST RUINED THIS FOR ME!

Would you listen to Eternal Echoes again? Why?

Probably not...this is the most boring narrator I have encountered in a long while..

What was one of the most memorable moments of Eternal Echoes?

The Goddess Court!

What three words best describe Sarah E. Purdum’s voice?

Boring, Flat, Monotone

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no

Any additional comments?

** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **

This was a very interesting story about a Human and a Dagonite being fated to be mated! Teagan and Ari met under extreme conditions and from that moment he knew he wanted her and must have her...Teagan is a strong woman and tries to resist...well her resistance is futile and love does end up conquering all..This is a very interesting post apocalyptic world and I am interested where this author takes this..just with a different narrator please..this one made me want to go to sleep...she is not bad, but very monotone....

what a world

There are so many things to love about this story. The author does a wonderful job building the world and developing the characters.

I especially liked the way the mystery developed and was resolved. The author also left enough room to develop more stories while still bringing the current story to a close.

Talented tentacles!

So, I was in the mood for something different, and I’ve have this book for a while. After thinking, “how much more different can you get than a post-apocalyptic octopus shifter story?” I said WTH…I’ve only heard good things, I’ll give it a shot. I’ll admit, I didn’t know if the whole octopus thing would work for me, or if I’d just be weirded out by it, but…HOLY CRAP! I am in love with everything about this story!

Never Knew Cephalopods could be so sexy!

I will admit to a little doubt in the beginning. The history lesson at the start had me thinking that this wasn't the kind of book I was hoping it would be but I kept with it. I'm so glad that I did! What a wild ride! Teagan and Ari have got to be the hottest trans-species couple on the planet!
I wasn't too sure about the narrator at first, either but her ability to make the characters come to life was amazing! Great read! I will definitely look for more from this author.

Very unique story, can't wait to read/hear more

I enjoyed the story of Teaganand Ari that Anastasia told with this book. It took me a few chapters to get used to the narration style of Ms Purdum but once I did, I couldn't remember why it did. I love the idea of a future where the gods of old are back again with various groups of species that are human but extra because of their beliefs. The ultra conservative fringe organization was very believable because it's such a human thing. I will be getting book two next pay period to see what happens to the other members of Teagan's family that Daigo mentioned were holy.

Loved this book. Want the next one!

Eternal Echoes is set in a world where human-like species have popped up all over the place. We are only introduced to a few of these nonhuman groups, but I believe most are some form of shifters. I have never come a cross a book with an octopus shifter until this one. To me, the species was more like mermen with octopus legs instead of tails while in salt water. When I read "shifter" (which I believe the book never refers to them as), I think of the person 100% changing into the second creature. Ari remains humanoid from the torso up, which is great for dialogue and saving damsels in distress. Since our leading lady is human, most of the book is NOT spent in the sea, leaving Ari in his fully humanoid form. Though I wouldn't have minded more time shifted since the author most definitely keeps this sensual romance from going into tentacle fetish territory.

So if you are looking for a great romance packed with action, adventure, and some new species, give it a read. It was very light and fun while still having danger and drama. I can't wait for the second book to come out and see what else Anastasia Virgas has in store for us.

I did have to give the narration only 3 stars, dropping the Overall score, despite loving the book so much for two reasons. The narrator was inconsistent with accents. Many of the characters are European, but their accents seem to come and go, which can be very distracting from the book's great story. The second star was a bit of a petty reason. The word "leviathan" was used many times throughout the book as one of the dangers in the new world. The narrator pronounced it in several creative ways, but not once was it pronounced correctly. Luckily, the word was not used to the extent to detract from the story.

Love of a different kind

Love comes to people in mysterious ways as a human and a dagonite - an octopus shifter - come together over extreme circumstances.
The lore and the backstory of this novel is fantastic and the creation of a new world after the apocalypse will have you crying for more.
Listen to it. Read it. Enjoy it!!

Sisters of the Divine Book One

Sisters of the Divine Book One.

Ari Dago is on patrol one day when he sees a beautiful woman about to be eaten by a Leviathan. She is unconscious and has a bomb strapped to her chest. After rescuing her, Ari discovers Teagan is an ambassador well-liked by many other factions of the new races. He claims her as his mate, but neither can forsee the trouble brewing from past lovers.

If you're looking for a non-wolf shifter in a new world created from our own, this is the story for you!

Audio Review:
Sarah E. Purdum narrates with a steady pace. She uses just enough inflection to keep it interesting, but not so much that it overpowers the story. There are a couple patches where she could have added just a bit of performance to the audio, but overall she has a good pace.
