Publisher's summary

His present love. His old flame. Can they slay his demons - and build a future?

Emily Irving has enjoyed two years of blissful happiness with Brandon Walker, a man as mysterious as he is compelling. She knows Brand has secrets, but she's never pushed him to reveal anything. All that changes when an old friend of his shows up and turns her assumptions about the man she loves upside down.

Jet Durante hopes to reconnect with the man he has loved since they were teens. Instead he finds the beautiful and guileless Emily. Yet even as his hopes are dashed, a new and surprising attraction emerges - and so do Jet's suspicions that Brand hasn't been completely honest about his past.

Brand's postmilitary relationship with Emily has brought his soul close to peace, but when he returns home to find his new love and his old flame in one room, explosive doesn't begin to describe the atmosphere. The truth shatters Emily's world, but if they can all survive the flash flood of emotions, there's a chance they can pick up the pieces - and build something lasting.

Warning: Features one tortured soul, two sexy guys, and a whole lot of horses. Also contains scenes of two- and three-way love in any and every conceivable combination.

Eternally Dumb

It's disappointing that an author as talented as Sami Lee would feature such weak and stupid woman like Emily. I had a difficult time connecting with a female character who lacked self-respect and common sense.

For 2 years Emily had been living with Brand, a emotionally broken veteran desperately in need of professional counseling. While I wanted to sympathize with Brand's situation, it was frustrating that he did nothing to deal with his emotional problems.

Emily had allowed Bland to move in after knowing him for exactly 1 day, then invited Jet to stay overnight when he showed up unannounced at her property claiming to be an old friend of Brand. Dangerously dumb!

Emily seemed so pathetically grateful for male attention, willing to endure emotional or physical pain, not believing she was worthy of love or admiration. So boring...
