WHY in the romance section? It's epic fantasy.

What sexist gip filed this book in romance??? This book is epic, political fantasy. It's much like GRRM, except with less explicitly described rape and torture, thank the gods. So Rawn doesn't make readers lose our stomachs quite as often as 'gritty' (creepy, I've met him) GRRM. That doesn't make this a romance novel. So the book is told equally in the POV of women and men and the women have quite a bit of political agency and power. Again, that doesn't make it romance. Fantasy settings don't require rigid patriarchal societies and the constant mistreatment of women to qualify as fantasy.

Good grief, Audible, fix your sexist fuckup here. At least cross-reference so the book can be found in BOTH categories.

There's dragons and light-based magic and political intrigue.
When you're talking about literally a hundred or so different princes and lords and such, marriage and children and familial alliances *matter* politically. It's quite literally the backbone of GRRM. Rawn just doesn't have a habit of interrupting the politics with gore and rape quite so often. She's BETTER at this than GRRM. Respect her work and put it in the epic fantasy section where it belongs.

The book is fantastic, the narrator is great. Audible, at times, is utterly disappointing.

Thank you Audible for publishing these books by Melanie Rawn. She's a most brilliant author and I love every bit of it. I have the Dragon Prince series in book form and I have waited soooo long for these books to be published in audio form and at last they are here . Beautiful characters, Prince Rohan and Princess Sioned. Strong personalities and the secondary characters are all good too. Christa Lewis performed excellently. I have already downloaded book two and I hope the rest of the books will be published ASAP. Well worth a credit.
