Publisher's summary

Behind the wheel, racing champion Zander Donavan is at the top of his game. But after too much excess in his personal life, he's forced to step away. He needs to accomplish something all on his own - outside of his famous father's shadow.

Getty Caster is running away from the abuse that clouds her past. She thinks she's found the perfect escape - until she discovers a stranger in the beachside cottage she was promised. He's undeniably sexy, but she's there to heal. Alone.

Before long, though, fighting with each other turns into fighting their attraction. And giving in to desire sets off a chain reaction that has their pasts colliding. With an unexpected love on the line, can they overcome the fallout to build a future?

Critic reviews

"K. Bromberg makes you believe in the power of true love. As she tells it, with a little hard work, a little trust, a lot of faith, anything is possible. Down Shift made me a believer." (Audrey Carlan, New York Times best-selling author)

I love Zander

I went in thinking this was a mostly Zander story, but I feel it was more about Getty. I would have liked a little more Zander, but still a great story.

Way to Long😐

I feel like this story could of been told in less than 15 hours.. It was ok I loved how they redeemed each other. Helped each other come out of the darkness. Not a real big fan of Maxine Mitchell I think she over pronounces her words. Joe is always great.

Another fantastic book by K Bromberg

I have been a fan of Kristy Bromberg for years and she has written another winner. We first met Zander in the first if her Driven series. He is no longer that damaged little boy but a grown sexy man still dealing with the trauma of his childhood. He meets Getty, a feisty, beauty with demons of her own. The sparks and the sexy heat fly!

This book does have references to the Driven books but it is a stand alone and will be enjoyable without reading the Driven series first. That being said, the Driven series is excellent. K. Bromberg is one of my "always buy" authors .

It is very credit worthy.! 😄 You will not be disappointed!

SOOOOOO GOOD!!!

Loved the narrators, the story captured me since the first word. Getty and Zander are my favorites (after Rylee and Colton, of course). This story is sweet, encouraging, intimate, vulnerable and steamy. K. Bromberg really nailed it with this one! Can’t wait to continue my journey thru all her other books. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Blood, Band Aids, Scissors

Past: We meet Zander in book 1 of the Driven Series. As a child Zander was found next to his dead mother putting band aids on her trying to stop her bleeding. He was sent to the boys home ran by Riley. Zander liked race cars, so of course, Colton became his role model.

Present: Zander is now a professional race car driver working for Colton. Zander receives a box that contains items about his mother and it sends him into a downward spiral. He won't talk to anyone about what's bothering him. Colton tells Zander he's out-of-control and is fired from driving until he works out his issues. Zander makes a deal with his friend, Smitty, to stay at his cabin for a few months and complete renovations in exchange for anonymity.

Getty is running from an abusive past. Her husband was mentally abusive and cheated on her. She was able to divorce him without his signature and now wants to start a new life. A friend of Getty's, Darcey, told Getty she can stay in the cabin.

Getty comes home from work and undresses to get in the shower but much to her surprise there's a man in the shower. So the first time they meet their both naked in the bathroom. This is their story...

I really enjoyed this story and have already listened to it a few times. It was fun to catch up with Colton and Riley; and to find out how Zander's life turned out.

This book can be a stand alone but Driven is a really good trilogy you're missing out on.

K. Bromberg is a very talented writer. I adore her Driven Trilogy and Zander's story.

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell gave an entertaining performance. They are two of my favorite performers.

Absolutely worth the credit/$$.
