Publisher's Summary

Kara MacAllister thinks she's just an average, small-town preschool teacher until the night a mysterious stranger shows up at her door claiming that she's not only immortal, but the chosen one of a band of powerful shape-shifting males. Lyon steals her away from everything she knows and thrusts her into a world beyond her comprehension, a world filled with magic, nightmares, and perilous danger where Kara discovers an inner strength she never knew she possessed, and a passion in the arms of Lyon beyond anything she ever imagined.
As he works with Kara, preparing her to become the source of power for the Feral Warriors, Lyon is swept away by her vulnerable beauty and tempted beyond all reason by a desire he can't deny. But when Lyon realizes his band of warriors has been infiltrated by an ancient evil, he begins to question whether Kara is quite as innocent as she seems. And he begins to wonder if the woman who's stolen his heart is destined to be his salvation...or his doom.

So glad to see Pamela Palmer on Audible books!

Would love to see more of these Feral Warriors in Audible—this book is a start of a series of an elite band of immortals who can change shape at will. Sworn to rid the world of evil, consumed by sorcery and seduction, their wild natures are primed for release.
Rob Shapiro did an outstanding job on narrating this book.

First, let me say that I love, love, love the narrator of this story. Rob Shapiro has one of the sexiest voices I've heard (and I've heard a lot). I had absolutely no problem with him using his normal voice to portray Cara (the lead female in this story). Now that I got that out of the way, I have to admit when the story first started I wasn't that impressed. I say that because after listening to so many paranormal books, I have grown accustomed to more and sometimes lengthy description of the "back story" behind the other beings that are portrayed in the story. This book dove head first into Lyon's search and discovery of their "Radiant One", and the "back story" was woven into the quick and rapid pace of the dialogue between Cara, Lyon and Hawk. However, as the story unfolded and the characters identified (Ty, Viper, Jag, Hawk, Pink, etc) for some reason I found the characters endearing themselves to me in some odd way. I kind of figured out who the nemesis was about half way through the story, but that is often not too difficult in most stories. I won't tell you much about the story because I really don't want to ruin it for you. I will say that at the end I decided that I MUST continue with the series to find out what happens to Viper and Ty's other half...and to see the other ferals discover their own true mates. Yes, there are some sizzling sex scenes in this book that I thoroughly enjoyed, yet I didn't find them pornographic as much as sensual and erotic. Of course, with Rob Shapiro reading the scenes he made them that much more enjoyable. I hope you enjoy this book/series as much as I plan on doing so...
