Publisher's summary

Author's note: There are more Titan books coming. This novella is about Titan's Delta team. Old characters and new. Standalone, no cliffhanger. I hope you enjoy.

A Man Is Nothing

Trace Reeves was one bad day from a dishonorable discharge. The best the Navy SEALs had to offer, he became a vengeful, angry mess when his twin brother was killed-in-action. Now he's focused on a deadly obsession and unable to cope with the pain and guilt...except one time, in the arms of a one night stand that he'd never see again. She was smart, the sexiest thing he'd ever touched, but she disappeared into the night.

Without His Team

Titan Group was recruiting for their Delta team. They wanted ghosts. No ties. Nothing personal. The best of the best who could live off the grid and surface when commanded. Trace was the perfect recruit. Damaged. Heroic. Nothing to lose.

Until a Mission - or a Woman - Changes Everything

But when Trace's one-time fling becomes his high-value target during a black ops job, the lines blur between her rescue mission and saving himself.

Delta: Retribution is the first title in the new Delta series, a spin off from the Titan series. This novella was available in the Hot Alpha SEALs: Military Romance Megaset.

Fallen Navy SEAL and Titan Group's Delta recruit Trace Reeves wants nothing more than a one-night stand to forget that his twin brother was killed-in-action. But when his one-time fling becomes his high value target, the lines blur between her rescue mission and saving himself.

Thrills, action, suspenseful romance at its finest

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Trace went and talk to the boys on their last mission. That was a very touching and moving scene

Any additional comments?

I loved this action packed thriller that is full of passion, starting over and kicking some tail. The author gives you a wonderful amazing read that hooks you from page one with the thrilling fast pace action packed read. Trace is trying to get over losing his twin he is having a hard time and just about lose it. He is a mess and needs to take a step back but he needs to be in action which helps him forget or at least deal with his lose. Marlena is one smart cookie who has a very evil hateful father you would like to shoot. Nothing has been the same since her mother died and nothing will ever be the same when the truth comes out. Trace and Marlena have a lot of the same issues trying to forget, overcome your past and loss. With a one night stand and Marlena sneaking out they think they will never see each other again. Neither can forget the amazing night of passion they shared. Faith has a way of bring you around face, to meet your past as well as make it a life or death mission.

Jeffrey Kafer did a great job on narration the only trouble I had was he stopped for a little too long. I thought it was the end of the chapter or something was wrong with the audio. Then he would start talking again. I loved his rough and tough voice which really added to the narration. His character voices were outstanding. Mr. Kafer really puts emotion to his audios with deep rich male voices and lovely soft female ones. He gives just the right tones for each scene as he brings the story to life. I did not hear any background noise or any places where the audio volume was higher or lower than it was before. This narrator has a voice you could listen to all day, before I knew it the audio was over leaving me wanting more. I did listen to this in one setting I just could not put it down. I have never had so much fun mowing and cleaning as when I was listening to this audio. If a break was taken I could not tell it sounded like he did it all at one setting. I truly enjoyed this narrator as he really brought this story to life for me keeping me chucking, holding my breath as well as leaving my mouth hung open. I really am looking forward to listening to more from him.

This is one author that pulls you in from the first page giving you passion and so much action you are left hanging on the edge to see what trouble they get into next. Ms. Harber put a lot of thought into the writing of this book giving you a story that could be straight out of our headlines. She gives you wonderful likable characters you are cheering on or shaking your head at, at times you will have to laugh at other feel very sorry for them. My heart really went out to both Trace and Marlena both have lost so much and still will be losing more. I had a few favorite parts in this story one was when Trace was talking to the young boys almost at the end of the story. That was the most touching heart pulling scene almost leaving you in tears. Another was when he was trying to get Marlena out and she put up one heck of a fight. The ending is amazing and will almost leave you in tears. Her father you would just like to hang him up and leave him there. This is one HOT steamy read from start to finish. There are a few twist you won’t see coming and a few that you have to laugh along with a few you would just like to hit something. This really was an outstanding read that I totally enjoyed. I am so looking forward to more from this author.

Yuck! That's MY opinion..

This was my first book of Cristin Harber, and it will definitely be my last. It was only OK up until I quit reading it at 38%. I like sexual tension but when there's sexual thoughts on almost every page it becomes too much, the story is forgotten and replaced with thoughts of sex. AND when the author uses the word p***y to describe a woman's body part, well, I find that word totally gross. AND when the hero tells the heroine he knows she wants him to spank her, that's all. I happen to like sex in my books but I like romantic sex, not painful or dirty sex.

I'm giving this book 3 stars because I'm not finishing it, to be fair to the author.

As for the narration: Jeffery Kafer, again, was just OK. No emotion whatsoever. No laughter, no whispering, not a good job on the women's voices, nothing. The only thing he has going for him is how sexy he makes the men sound. But there's more to narration than that.

Paint by numbers Titan romance rushed

At 3 hours, this standard Titan group romance feels unsurprisingly rushed. It’s not terrible. Kafer’s narration of former SEAL Trace is, as usual, sexy and oozing testosterone. The one or two ops action sequences were fun. And the injection of the new Delta Team promises further storylines. But the writing of Trace and Marlena’s backstories didn’t feel earned and I didn’t buy the speed at which they fell in love at all.
For free as part of the monthly Audible Escapes subscription, it’s fine. However, it wasn’t as nearly satisfying as say, Westin’s Chase, one of the author’s fully developed and way sexier books.

I Love Cristin Harber Novels

I'm never disappointed with Titan/Delta series novels by Cristin Harber. They are always filled with HOT guys, lots of action and intrigue, and Jeffrey Kafer does a outstanding job of narrating Cristin's Audible books.

🌻Way too short to be good🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

It would be a rare book, indeed, that would seem complete, that is only three hours long. This is not that rare book. The H and h both have deep emotional issues that the author glances over. There are a couple pretty hot sex scenes and a HEA. This definitely is not worth a credit but, if you want something that takes no brain power to listen to that is included in the Escape Package, this fits the bill.

Awesome novella

Also available in KU.

It’s been a while since I’ve read the Titan books, but that didn’t effect my enjoyment of this novella (Delta is a spin-off of Titan if you like to listen to things in order.). Some Titan folks are mentioned, but this easily stands alone. Harber is fantastic at giving listeners a good mix of suspense, action, & romance. Trace & Mar are imperfect people yet perfect for each other. there’s a little back & forth but it doesn’t drag on. Nice epilogue & HEA ~ but definitely looking forward to more Delta books.

Jeffrey Kafer’s deep voice is perfect.

Delta Delivers!

My 2nd Cristin Harber experience did not disappoint! I LOVED these characters! Ms. Harber’s character development is a beautiful thing! Damaged, frustrating, lovable and swoon-worthy, Marlena and Trace have you cheering for them! The obstacles they have to overcome make for an exciting experience!
