Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend to anyone who likes dark romances - it was hard for me at times to hear some of the abuse the characters go through so I would add a warning to those who don't like themes of kidnapping and abuse
Who was your favorite character and why?
I liked Lily and the anti-hero Monster. They were both troubled complex souls.
Have you listened to any of Artie Rose’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the very first audio book I've ever listened to. I feel like Artie's narration got better and better as the book went on. In the end I felt like my friend was reading it out to me. I was sad when it finished! Artie was very good at giving the characters voices without overdoing it.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The moments when we went through what happened in Monster's childhood to make him who he is today. It's so sad.
Any additional comments?
I really loved this audio book experience. I was worried how I'd find time to listen but when the story grips as much as this one, I listened while walking, cleaning, waiting on the bus, on the bus! Everywhere. It was a very dark book. Not what I'm used to but I know it will stay for me for a long time. Excellent by Marissa Farrar.
