Smart, Funny but Not Silly

I really enjoyed Deadly Gamble, my first book by Linda Lael Miller. Mojo (28) was a sarcastic, amusing and endearing woman who decides to become a detective; Tucker was a hunky cop who managed to be both sexy and good-hearted.

I was leery when Mojo starts seeing dead people, but her "gift" was portrayed in a way that made it blend with the mystery, not overwhelm it. Mojo's friends, family and pets kept the story moving fast with lots of laughs.

Great Story

The story was great, loved the concept and the characters. There was a point toward the end where it started to feel a little long and redundant, but not long after that it really picked up and carried all the way to the end. Overall great book and super performance.

Promising but.....

The main character made several very bad, nay, stupid, decisions. I mean uber stupid. Did she have a death wish? And never once did she save herself. And the murder for hire plot? Wth!?

Good for a listen while working on a project!

Spent a couple afternoons working on thing's around the house.. this book was good enough that I paused it when I would have missed something while flitting around. It was an enjoyable listen and I would recommend it!

wow, wonderful narrator!

the book is good kind of reminds me of Stephanie plum series with the silly stuff that character did. I'm reading the next book for sure. the narrator is what took this book over the top. I'm looking for more books with her as a narrator for sure.

Great book

A little for everyone, a “who done it “ with some romance, a ghost and a cat but it’s a decent edge of your seat thriller as well... well written and well done for a book that can be easily appreciated and enjoyed by readers of several disparate genres. Kudos.

Disappointed with the story

I like Linda Lael Miller and this one was just too much. The story was kinda dumb and I was left thinking this could have been better. I thought the end was dumb and was hoping for more of a story with Tucker and MOJO. Loved Susan Bennett, which is the only reason I kept listening. probably won't listen to the next one.
