Publisher's Summary

Dominic, of the Dragonseeker lineage - one of the most powerful of the Carpathian lines - is desperate to go to the very heart of the enemy camp and learn their plans. There’s only one way to do so: ingest the parasitic blood of a vampire. He knows that it is a mission from which there is no return. With little time before the blood takes effect, he’ll get the information he needs, relay it to the leader of the Carpathians, and go out fighting. There is no more honorable way to end his life.
Solange Sangria is one of the last of the jaguar people, a royal pureblood, a dying species that cannot recover from bad decisions made over hundreds of years. She has long been alone, fighting to save the remaining shapeshifters from the hands of Brodrick the Terrible: her own father, who slaughtered her family and everyone she loved. Wounded and weary, she plans one last battle, hoping to stop the man who has made an alliance with the vampires, accepting that she will not come out alive.
They are two warriors who have lived their lives alone. Now, at the end of their time, they find each other - an obstacle neither saw coming, and which neither can hope to ignore.

Dark Peril Satisfies!

For those of you familliar and unfamillar with feehan's dark series, this book is 1 of the better books from the series. I enjoyed the last few books, but this one had me walking around with my earphones in for a full day! I truly enjoyed the male/female narration. We have a new female narrator this time (AND SHE ROCKS!). Phil Gigante continues as the male narrator and he is AWESOME! Between the two, they really make you feel the innerworkings of the story and their relationship. We don't revisit any other characters, but references are made, etc. We also have a HUGE discovery at the end that will surely make future stories even more magical! Thanks Christine for continually making this series better!

I have always loved Christine Feehan's books, some more than others. This story of Dominic and Solange has to be one of the more recent favorites. I love the stories of the Jaguar people and knowing how Solange felt about men in prior books, I was anxious to see how she would have her story unfold. I think it is a great story, more romantic even than some in the past. And I LOVE the way Natalie Ross and Phil Gigante read for this book. I think it very interesting how they use the voice modulator to differentiate the mind to mind talk as apposed to the speaking out loud. Mr. Gigante does a wonderful job with the Carpathian language, where a lot of readers probably wouldn't even attempt it. Bravo.......I hope that they are used for more books in the future. Their voices compliment each other perfectly!!! In my opinion..........
