Publisher's summary

Allie LeClair has finally returned to the sultry city of New Orleans. After 10 years of studying and working as a pastry chef in San Francisco and all over Europe - and feeding her submissive side at BDSM clubs - Allie is home, and she has something to prove to the man who once fueled her desires. She's not a child anymore. When security specialist Mick Reid hears that Allie is back in town, he knows he won't be able to stay away for long. Ever since he discovered his darker side, Mick has tried to protect Allie from the aggressive beast within him - but that power and wildness is exactly what she wants. Allie has made the first move, but now it's up to Mick. The game has begun, and playing has never been so rough.

Amazing book

This was a great book so hard to put down, and a easy read. Can’t want to read more from her

Pretty good.

I put a four star this time simply because I didn't enjoy the audio version as much as I did reading the print version of the book. The characters are still as great as they were the first time I read the story, but the narrator I think, at times, didn't put enough enthusiasm in her words as was needed. Other than that it was an enjoyable listen.

very fitting book title

Where does Dangerously Bound rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In the erotica genre in the top 30 since I have over 100 or so. That may not say much but it was quite enlightening about the darker side of BDSM. Some of it had me grimacing but the overall scenes were very well done.

Have you listened to any of Tatiana Sokolov’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

TS's voice was good. The story was based in New Orleans and I was expecting to hear that accent but it wasn't strong at all. It had no bearing on how good the book was.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Mick finally came to terms with his issues it actually felt like a weight was lifted from my own shoulders.

Any additional comments?

The book is very good because I've thought about many parts after having finished. I actually appreciate that bc I don't normally do that, I move on to another book. The negative: I have mixed feelings because there were things the H did that I thought were selfish and sometimes harmful but I had to keep remembering this was about 2 consenting adults. The postive: it had enough angst and storyline to read it in 1 sitting with no skipping.

Yawn!

This story had potential, but it just didn't draw me in or engage me in any way. I think the narration was part of the problem. Tatiana Sokolov (a/k/a Tanya Eby) has done some halfway decent work in other books, but she was really bad in this one.

The plot was so predictable. The story takes place in New Orleans. The main characters, Allie and Mick were high school sweethearts, but when Mick went away to college, the romance ended. Then they had one very hot hook up during college. They both still love each other, but Mick is too deep in his own self-loathing to want a relationship with Allie. He got involved in BDSM and was a highly-trained dominant. Plus he is into underground fighting, too, as a way to vent his anger.

Meanwhile, Allie is living all over the world learning to become a pastry chef. She also got into BDSM (as a "perfect" submissive). Allie returns to New Orleans after she inherits a house from a relative, and at this point, you can probably write the rest of story yourself.

The sex scenes were supposed to be hot, but honestly I didn't get the slightest tingle from any of them. Part of it was the narration, but they just fell flat for every time.

Waste of a credit (I am going to return it after the review gets posted); definitely not worth paying cash either.

Dangerously Bound; Boring!!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Anyone who can tolerate a meandering story for 10 hours. Too bad it had such potential.

Would you ever listen to anything by Eden Bradley again?

It would be a hard choice. I wouldn't think so.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Put a little more emotion into the actions. The story came across very flat, one note.

What character would you cut from Dangerously Bound?

The characters were fine it was the lack-luster storyline!

Any additional comments?

I really was excited to listen to this book. It took more than 5 tries to get through it. It just dragged encessently.
