Publisher's summary

Taryn Malone is stranded, broke, and desperate for help. But even if the sexy bartender she's been eyeing offers her a job for the evening...even if he seduces her with his impossibly intense blue eyes...even if every fiber of her heart tells her to stay with him, she can't. Because Taryn Malone doesn't exist. Jake Callaghan has been running the family's Irish pub for years now. When he sees Taryn standing out alone in the rain, he does what he's been trained to do as a SEAL - he rescues her. It has nothing to do with her full, firm curves, or her loose, golden-blonde hair, or the way she brushes against him that sends lightning bolts through his body. It's just the right thing to do. Really. But both Taryn and Jake are hiding secrets from each other. Dangerous secrets. And neither one of them knows just how dangerous it can be to fall in love. Contains mature themes.

Great Story, Lots of Heroes!

My first Abbie Zander's story was a pleasant find! Dangerous Secrets had a great plot that keeps the listener in suspense. It's an instant love story, one where it seemed the H/h spent more time apart than together. Due to the separation, I didn't really feel the chemistry, and attraction between the H/h; however, I enjoyed the plot enough to listen to the next audio in the series.

Some Spoilers;
Lots of heroes in this one! Taryn (heroine) was on the run from a psycho, and had been staying off the grid. She met Jake (hero) outside his pub when her car broke down, and ended up stranded. While she was waiting for her car to be fixed, she worked temporarily at Jake 's pub to earn some cash. There was an immediate attraction between them that quickly developed. They had a few heated moments together, but Jake sensed something wasn't right. Trained as a SEAL, he believed she's running from something. He asked his brothers to help him investigate and follow her. Taryn knew she had to keep moving to ensure she was not caught, and to prevent Jake from getting hurt. While shopping, she secretly took off. Before Taryn actually fled, Jake had already called one of his other brothers (Cain), who secretly intercepted Taryn. Cain cleverly convinced Taryn to stay at his secluded cabin by making subtle hints and suggestions. She was reluctant at first, but felt safe enough to stay with Cain at his cabin. Taryn and Cain developed a friendship as they went about day to day activities. He didn't tell Taryn he was actually Jake's brother, and was asked to keep her safe, while Jake investigated why Taryn was on the run. When Jake learned why Taryn was on the run, he made an appearance at the cabin. Taryn flees from the cabin thinking Jake betrayed her since he learned the truth. For days, Jake, and his brothers search for her; however, Jake's father knew exactly where she was the whole time, and secretly monitored her movements, but didn't tell Jake. Just when the psycho was closing in on Taryn's location, Jake realized his father knew Taryn's location the whole time. They all go to rescue her.

This story demonstrated how strong Jake's relationship was with this family, and how well they worked together as a team doing co-ops, but I think the time the Taryn spent with Cain at the cabin could have been used to further develop the relationship between Taryn and Jake. (Just my opinion.)

The narration was great! Aiden is an awesome narrator with a deep rich voice, perfect for these male characters.

Great story! There's lots of suspense, twists, a HEA, and no dreaded cliffhanger! The main characters, as well as the secondary characters were well developed, interesting, and had unique personalities. I really liked there were several POV's. Overall, four stars. If the H/h had more chemistry, romance, and time together, I would have given five stars.

SURPRISINGLY ENJOYABLE.

Any additional comments?

This book caught my attention because Aiden Snow was the narrator. I really did enjoy it. Once I started I could not stop listening. I would have enjoyed at little more Jake and Tarin alone time with more dirty talk but that's my only complaint. So it four out of five stars

Good story just a bit confusing

The heroine is a little too friendly with most of the brothers. I wasn't sure which one she was going to end up with. But I am going to give the 2nd book a chance.

Love to listen to Aiden Snow

The story was decent, but the leading female was really kinda gross. She seemed to like every man that crossed her path. She didn't get with them all, but her thoughts were just sleezy. There wasn't any romance in this story really. I really think you need a bit of romance to pull off the sex scenes, or at least some kind of crazy amazing chemistry but this gal seemed to feel a whole lot of chemistry with every brother. They spent a lot of time apart in the book. The male character was ok. He wasn't anything real special. The Narration was great. I would try this author again because the writing was good. I think the decision to have her drooling over so many guys just really destroyed any attachment I might have formed for either character.

Great Beginning!

Wow, this was a great beginning to what looks like an awesome series! Abbie Zanders is a new author to me and after listening to this audio I immediately downloaded the rest of this series. I fell in love with the Callaghan brothers and was anxious to hear all of their stories. Jake was protective of Taryn right off and I loved the way he and his family worked together to protect her. Taryn’s story was so tragic my heart went out to her and I could certainly understand her attitude at times and her reluctance to trust anyone. I enjoyed this story and look forward to listening to the rest of the series. Aiden Snow does a wonderful job of narrating and bringing all the characters to life.

Jake and Taryn

One of my favorite Abbie Zanders books is Dangerous Secrets. Although, I am pleased that the series is going to be made available on audio, I think my download had two or three places where it seemed to skip. Not sure why that occurred. I love audio books and tend to read the book firs t on my kindle fire, then buy the audio version when the price drops to $1.99

Good narrator.

This is the first in the Callaghan series. Buy this audio first.

Not sure how I feel about this book...

There were definite weaknesses in the storyline; and Taryn's relationship with Jake wasn't as attractive as her relationship with Kane. Jake was just lust, but Kane was everything and the love that seemed to emanate from the two of them was so much stronger and more enjoyable that just a romp in the bed. The relationship was just not there for Jake and Taryn. Also, the shooting of the two brothers was so unrealistic. The story was kind of scattered. I don't think I'll listen to the others, simple because this one seemed so disjointed. And I really didn't like Taryn. She was...well, "absent." Other than knowing she had a tattoo, I don't really feel like I learned anything about her.

Enjoyable book

I enjoyed the book it
had drama and romance but it would have been better if there would've been more love scenes between the H/H.
Getting to know the brothers made it enjoyable and funny. I was disappointed that there was only one hot love scene through the whole book. I also enjoyed the narrator who made the book worth listening to.

Great Potential

Taryn's story is so tragic. he finds herself at Jake's bar with Jake's family under the most unfortunate circumstances. Jake, being enamored with Taryn, immediately wants to care for her and protect her. Because Taryn is so guarded she doesn't trust him or his brothers. After hearing her story I don't blame her.

There's more adventure and action to this story than there is romance. I feel like it had great potential but fell flat somewhere in the middle. Jake is "inlove" with Taryn but he doesn't spend very much time with each other. They don't even know each other very well. And then they very quickly get become a couple. I found her dramatic backstory more believable than their love.

Aiden Snow is one of my favorite narrators. He was a perfect fit.
