I stopped when the female character disclosed her damaged soul and then the male character said "well, I might as well tell you I'm damaged, too and I don't think I'll be undamaged anytime soon but we can still have sex." Just ridiculous. I couldn't continue.

H.M.Ward starts this book with Sidney walking into a bar promising her friend she would show up on a blind double date. As Sidney scans the bar, the only person who appears to be alone was a really good looking man. Sidney approaches him and makes small talk with him (Peter). Sidney finds he is funny and easy to get along with. He asks her name and she tells him just as her friend finds her and tells her that the guys are waiting for them. When Sidney asks the man "you aren't my date this evening." He stated, "No, I thought you were picking me up." He stated it was working he would have bought her dinner.
As the book continues, Sidney, a student at the college and Peter a teacher at the same college, become good friends. One evening after a Swing dance meeting they went to dinner. The head of the English department sat down with them for dinner. She stated they need to end their relationship.
Whether they had a relationship or not effects the tone throughout the book. The book also deals with a sexual assault victim and her attempts to recover.
This book needs to be read before reading Damaged 2. This book is a cliff hanger.
If you're looking for a hot, sexy read like the cover promises, then I'm sorry you're out of luck. BUT if you're into swing dancing, then this is the book for you!
I don't get to see my partner a lot so this book kind of makes up for it, Kitty reads it all too well and her voice is just perfect for it.
This book is sexy, erotic, romantic and it has a bunch of pizazz to it.
I adore all of H.M. Ward's literature, they are just what I need to zone out and relax.
Just perfect. ♥️
