Publisher's Summary

Cocky farmer Eli Cross plays twice as hard as he works. When his latest stunt drums up a heap of negative PR for the family farm, he grudgingly agrees to play host to an ambitious New York City photographer. Her feature on Cross Creek could be just the ticket to show the country what the Cross brothers do best...which is more problem than solution for Eli.
Scarlett Edwards-Stewart has photographed everything from end zones to war zones. She's confident she can ace this one little story to help her best friend's failing magazine. At least, she would be if her super-sexy host wasn't so tight lipped. But the more Scarlett works with Eli, the more she discovers that he's not who he seems. Can his secret bring them closer together? Or will it be the very thing that tears them apart?

Sweet enough story, horrible accents

The story was a no-brained sweet romance. Perfect distraction but nothing gripping. The narrator's regular voice is lovely and as long as she wasn't doing dialogue it was fine. The "Virginia farm" accent was tolerable but the New York tough guy accent she chose for the female lead made the book almost impossible to listen to. I finished the book, cringing all the way (especially during the romance scenes...gah) because I didn't have time to download anything else. I listened for free on Kindle Unlimited subscription or this one would have gone back.

Sweet & Sexy Romance!

This sweet and sexy romance was a wonderful surprise. This is the first book I've read from this author and I totally enjoyed it. Eli is the youngest family member of the Cross Family at the Cross Creek Farm. He doesn't love farming as much as his brothers, so he feels like he doesn't belong. His passion is elsewhere, and his love and loyalty causes him to hide who he truly is. That is until sexy photographer, Scarlett, comes from NY to help promote the farm. They are opposites in so many ways, but their passions are fit perfectly together. The more time they spend together, the more Eli builds his courage to be who he truly is. When Scarlett leaves for her next job, will Eli be able to let her go? I really loved Eli, Scarlett, and the whole Cross family. Eli and Scarlett complimented each other so well and their chemistry was off the charts. I enjoyed the family banter, along with the unconditional love and support they gave each other.
I loved Christina Traister's narration. She really brought these characters to life with her wonderful accents and spot on delivery. I was totally lost in her performance. This is the first time I've listened to her work and I will definitely look for more.
This is a fun, engaging, emotional family saga, and steamy romance with so much heart!
