Publisher's Summary

Contains all three Coven Enforcer books, historical paranormal romance laced with myth and magic. Dark, dangerous, and above all magical, Luke, Joshua, and Sam roam the Old West meting out Coven justice.
Blood and Magic:
Magic didn't just find Luke Caulfield. It chased him down, bludgeoned him, and has been dogging him ever since. Some lessons are harder than others, but Luke embraces danger, upping the ante to give it one better.
Blood and Sorcery:
Joshua committed his life to fighting Black Magick. Not sure who he hates worse, dark sorcerers or the clerics who tortured and mutilated his family, he lives on the road with his horse and his magic.
Blood and Illusion:
Sam's worked for the Coven as one of their enforcers forever. He's been there so long, the Coven is the only mistress he knows. It's a lonely life on the road thwarting wickedness and Black Magick with his guns, his magic, and his horse, but it's been enough to satisfy him. Until now.

The action never stops!

The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this audiobook with no expectation of a review.

This box set is a unique blend of paranormal romance and old-west style adventure. You have witches and mages battling demons, wraiths, possessed wolves and other animals, etc. all while they are trying to tame their little piece of the wild west or are making their way out west.

Of course, each book has its own romance and by the end, the two characters get their HEA. There are lots of very HOT moments (some nearly erotic which, to me, is a bit jarring in a book that is from this time period).

By the end of the third book, it sounds as though the author left it open for potentially more books. If so, I would definitely get them!

Blood and Magic

Great premise (urban fantasy western-style). Luke is a great “cowboy” hero, laconic and masculine. Abigail is a strong heroine with a good (believable, not goody-two-shoes) moral compass. All the unique plot elements, steady pacing, and quality writing I expect from Ann Gimpel. She doesn’t beat you over the head with historical details, just sprinkles them in with everyday activities to bring the setting to life. Although the love scenes are explicit, the couple don’t jump into bed right away. Their romance develops at a steady pace and the sexual tension is built before it’s consummated (plenty of love scenes after that). The wedding ritual was interesting, and I liked how the loose ends of the story were wrapped up and rolled into the next book in the series. The narrator did a decent job with the accents and voices; I always knew who was talking.
