Publisher's Summary

Morrow Little is haunted by the memory of the day her family was torn apart by raiding Shawnee warriors. Now that she is nearly a grown woman and her father is ailing, she must make difficult choices about the future. Several men - ranging from the undesired to the unthinkable - vie for her attentions, but she finds herself inexplicably drawn to a forbidden love that both terrifies and intrigues her. Can she betray the memory of her lost loved ones - and garner suspicion from her friends - by pursuing a life with him? Or should she seal her own misery by marrying a man she doesn't love? This sweeping tale of romance and forgiveness will envelop listeners as it takes them from a Kentucky fort through the vast wilderness to the west in search of true love.

Like a Warm Embrace ;-)

This is the first book by Laura Frantz that I’ve read and it most certainly won’t me my last. She definitely has the gift of story telling as well as an exceptional gift of writing with emotion. This story is gripping from the beginning and ends with an endearing sense of awe.

The characters are written beautifully and there is a “trueness” about them. These characters have faults, endure many hardships yet they don’t pass judgment on others. Instead, they put their faith in God to help them through any difficulties. The level of forgiveness that is shown in this story is overwhelming and begs us to question our own depth and ability to forgive others.

I don’t want to give the story away but this is more than just a romantic clean love story that transcends all boundaries. It’s also a tale of family love, friendships, faith, loyalties, and forgiveness. It’s heartbreaking yet triumphant… a warm embrace after a long battle. :-)

I enjoyed the narration. The accents and emotion came through wonderfully.

I highly recommend this to all Christians or people of faith. I will definitely be checking out the author’s other books.

I would like to thank the author, narrator, publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review courtesy of Audiobookboom.
